  • How old are you? I was there that day in 1984 when this video was shot and we called it "moshing". Whatever you want to call it is OK with me, but that is what we called it on that day in 1984. My guess is that you are in your late 20's or early 30's like most punk rock experts. Slam away!

  • @TheDoctorVideo was this preformed in the street?

  • Comment removed

  • @TheDoctorVideo moshing slamming how bout fucking shit up? hahahahurrr ;)

  • @slingshot2009 NO! It's useless shit! Get it straight will you!

  • @way2eaz4u

Yeah, my opinion is a joke.

I was never into the whole mohawks and destroying shit attitude.

  • @MykeMetyll Let me guess, Regan youth, right?

  • @SlugUseless

What about them? I don't know much, if any Regan Youth.

  • This is awesome. I saw these guys in Iowa City in '86 (I think) with MDC. By far the best punk rock band I ever saw. They came out looking like they'd just climbed out of a dumpster and FUCKED SHIT UP!

  • @holmer666 Thanks! I remember that show. It was great! Iowa City RULES!!!

  • @SlugUseless Were you in the band then? If so, thank You, sir. That was seriously the best punk show I ever saw, and I saw a bunch of them. I got a shirt at that show that I wore until there was nothing left of it! ha ha. Ahhhh, the good old days...

  • USELESS PEICES OF...

  • What kinda shit is this?? lololol

  • Lolzzz

  • FUCK SHITTT UPPPP

  • Meh. Early Descendents were way more hardcore than this.

  • How about if we call this expressing yourself? Are you OK with that?

  • sooo.. i don't get it. is the vocalist a really bad singer or is this early screamo. he's not even screaming. he's just shouting. might as well give him a megaphone.

  • @SkylarRuloff If you got to ask then you don't know! Move on my friend. This is not the place for you.

  • those were the days =D

  • This is epic :D

  • @ NothTXBalla, Thanks for the great compliment. There is the longer version of this concert. I think it's called Real 80s Punk Rock, or something. It has like six song from the same night in 1984.

  • i've probably watched this video a hundred times. Thank you TheDoctorVideo for giving this to youtube!!! This is my inspiration to change the world :). God Bless UPS!!! This is complete freedom of expression!! If you ever hear of the name 'Ben-Jammin!" on the radio or tv; it will be solely because of this video :)

  • Anyone got video (or even audio) of 'em doin' "TATTOO PARTY"? I gotta see it. Preferably in the clown suits. Lemme know; I'd sure appreciate it!

  • @Damon0mania The song is called 'Under the Gun' and there is a video post of it on Youtube. Look under Disillusion Music Label or Slug Useless.

  • @SlugUseless

Nope. They did a piss-take of the Black Flag classic. It was a live favorite. Especially then, before everyone and their shit-heel kids were all sleeved out. Those guys looked like some serious thugs, so their doing that was just awesome. LOUD, too. Still wanna hear it cuz I think it everyday around these Austin hipster dildos...christ...

  • this is satanism

  • @ragggeeeee

The police is satan! So fuck shit up!!!!!

  • @KOmaSHOOTER try to imagine a life with no cops?

  • @ragggeeeee

No, but I can imagine a world with good cops

  • wow this pretty much contains everything that's cool about hc.

  • What?? This band didnt exist in the 80's?? Ya they did. wtf r u talking about?? I am in Phoenix and they were out here for sure. Even gave me a free tshirt. UPS...surrounded by shit. They were cool. Those were the good old days for sure. Thanks for posting this...I have found so much of the old shit...other bands...nothing by these guys tho....till now. • nice video too bad you guys didnt exist until recently...

  • @Hungryassjessie Are you saying that UPS physically did not exist in the 1980s, or that they were not popular enough for you to know of them until now? I know they existed on the night the video was made in 1984 because I was there. UPS's music existed on tape from the1980s up until now where the magic of Youtube brought it to you. Are they finding new found popularity on Youtube, perhaps.

  • @Hungryassjessie You noob ass pile. This is the band that also started the entire west coast punk gang F.S.U.

  • @cumofo you're an idiot, fsu is a north east metalcore fag squad. kids are a bunch of pussies that get shot at when they want try and jump someone

  • @Hungryassjessie We are from another planet sent here to educate stupid people but I think that we are too late! Sorry about your penis!

  • Don't forget there are other Useless Pieces of Shit videos to enjoy and feel free to stop by Disillusion Music Label's website and check us out on Facebook.

  • Well despite all of the people with bad shit to say we have reached over 90,000 views and will soon be at 100,000. I glad this video has effect so many in so many ways.

That was always the goal of Useless Pieces of Shit, to get emotions out of people. They always wanted listeners to either love or hate the music. No middle of the road reactions. No just hanging out. Get involved or get out.

  • w - t - f

  • Come on people! Spread the Useless word! We want 90,000 views! Tell all your friends to watch the FSU Video. All of them! Even that weird one that keeps to himself.

Comment brought to you by Slug at Disillusion Music Label. Stay Useless!!!

  • yup same chords repetitive lyrics and really fast tempo and a singer who cant sing only shout. this is real punk

  • Incredible unintentional self-parody.

I mean, I love hardcore, but this is the most sincerely-portrayed cliche of the genre I've ever seen.

    Brilliant?

  • this is amazing. thank you.

  • Funny, I knew a bunch of these guys a little bit later - I got to Tucson in October '87, but I hadn't realized they were in UPS! Like Paul, and maybe that other guitarist, who might have been a "Mike"...

  • sublime:)

  • LOL imagine one kids sees this and says...Dad?

  • iihh... i hate rock

  • madness!

  • lol "Useless Pieces of Shit"

it's just a lot of noise and bullshit but I like to watch those stuff once in a while :P

Any type of Rock music is about expressing yourself so really, I can't say anything bad about this video or band but I'll say this: This video should've been on national TV

    :D

  • That's funny that people are complaining about copycat punks today when punks in the US in the '80's were suburban teens copying the fashions of the UK punk movement.

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @MrRGanja no its just that punk today sucks ass. but i really don't see y ppl hate Greenday though. I think Greenday is a decent band and musicians compared to most musicians today.

  • @MrRGanja You're right, they were copying, but that doesn't make them 80's punks from the UK, It's still the root to punk In North America, to punk rock as all the best 90's bands learned from. But I don't recall complaining about anything about back them, just today.

  • @MrRGanja which is why you look at 90%of 80s US hardcore show photos and it's a bunch of kids with short hair wearing t shirts and/or flannel shirts and jeans and not mohawks, spiky discharge coats and bondage pants etc.

ie maybe your town just sucked.

  • @thereagauze Well, I don't know about that as I was there from the late 70's throughout the entire 80's totally immersed in it, especially hard from 81-87 and I had many many friends with poles, single and double mohawks. But then when we'd get to the really big shows at The Olympic Auditorium there were a hell of a lot more bondage pants, spikes, poles etc than what you saw. However, up to about 1981 it was more like what you explain.....tee shirts, jeans and flannels. A few mohawks though

  • @Harpgrindin ah west coast, those (you) guys seemed more into the UK side of punk (Pistols/Damned) more than the east coast roots (Ramones) making that early transition to Hardcore so that makes sense. There were some hawks and blue hair out here but mostly dudes dressed like loggers/fisherman, see Minor Threat, the Boston HC bands, NYHC, not a lot of Uk fashion sense there even if they loved Discharge.

  • @thereagauze You're East Coast, ok. Loggers and fisherman....that's pretty funny. Actually during the big shows is when most put on their "gear" so to speak and during the week it was a bit more casual. That brings me to your point UK Fashion. I've thought about this alot and in Europe (mainly UK) the unemployment rate was always fairly high, so someone could wear poles or a mohawk 7 days a week and they were taking care of by the social minded government. In the US we have to work.

  • @MrRGanja

No way man, UK punks ripped off American bands like the Ramones, NY Dolls, Iggy Pop. There was a helluva lot of inner city punk in US cities in the '70s and '80s. It was a great time.

  • Fuck sakes... I wish shows were good again. All the fucking bands that call themselves punk these days. Makes me sick. Good post.

  • @PoLaRIV

    Avril Lavigne.... Sum 41....MCR.

they're called "Pop Punks" still punk man. nothing can change that.

  • @pfl95 I dunno man, I still listen to Sum 41 and Thrice, two of my older favorites, but they just sold out hard core I guess. I don't blame them though, with all the downloading and stuff these days you have to come to the general public's call ya' know? Sum 41 got rid of brown sound and Thrice for some reason decided one day they aren't even going to play their old stuff anymore.. thanks guys lol

  • @pfl95 that's an abortion of punk. It has the sound, not the meaning.

  • @pfl95 that't what your mom calla punk but it isn't. its fucking boy bands with guitars.

  • This video gets more comments than any other video I have ever worked on in my 25 year career. I have made many clean, polished videos in 25 years. What does this say about us all? It was a fluke that this ever made it to the cable channel back in 1984. No one would put local punk bands on TV then. This was organic culture in Tucson in the 80s. One truly uncensored moment on public TV. No one got paid for it, yet it sparks a fire of social debate to this day. For that it has merit alone. Go UPS!

  • after reading all of these comments I have concluded that none of you douchebags are punk or know shit about it.

  • These guys aren't nearly as high as you think. You didn't have to be.

  • thats right all you little teeny bops, punk rock used to be about smokin and drinkin and huffin gas and shootin dope. now its all about havin your mom give you 20 bucks to buy a t shirt at hot topic.

  • @funkymoneylove hey hey hey...your right...BUT!!!... there are a few but only a few (its a shame i know) that are not those fucking posers!!! fuck those kids...the people you discribed are fucking pointless..All fashion, no passion...punk is an attitude, not a fashion....its in your head, not on top of it or on your body.

  • all 27 people that disliked this are Useless Pieces of Shit.

  • C2CONINUE'S channel says "Have a nice day!"

  • to all of you fucking people argueing saying whats punk and whats not and saying this is poser music...in the words of lee ving:GO DIE!!....

  • Is this Larvae from the Gore House days in Maine and late 80's Boston? This is some sick shite. I love it. True punk rock. If so remember the barn show in 89' we played in N.H. where I cut up my chest with razors and pissed all over the other band before us from barn rafters? You were in Vampire Lesbos then. Damn, great times. Cheers.

  • this is horrible hahahaha:p

  • @alseenpotvis suck my dick

  • lol this sicks.

  • what a fucking bunch of losers! just cant stop laughing

  • omg lenny mental i miss you!

    check out the besmirchers

    love nooch

everyone is dumb this is tucson in the 80s

and it is what is and its awsome, i lived there

for 14 years and we had the best punk scene

    in the country

  • omg lenny mental i miss you!

    check out the besmirchers

    love nooch

  • As far as I know a big part of being so called "Punk" is to do what you want because you love it and want to express yourself at any cost while not selling out for money or popular opinion in the process. As far as I know UPS did this sucsessfully and did not become rich, or sell out for fame. Did the other bands you mentioned do that? We could argue all day, but do they live in nice paid for houses now? I would be interested to know the reality. UPS is Punk, listening to your opinion is not.

  • @TheDoctorVideo 99% of all "punks" today are drunkass poser kids who sit at train stations texting. "punk" my ass!

  • @Zer0Skateboard I dunno man, that sounds pretty Emo as shit to me! Haha.

  • @PoLaRIV same :P but hey, it's just our opinion and their's is their's as well.

  • This is the faggiest thing I've ever seen...Just because it's from 1984 doesn't mean it's "real". All I see is a bunch of poser fashion punks listening to a band full of poser fashion punks that wish they were The Circle Jerks or Minor Threat or something.

  • @adamrothraisdead homo, fuck shit up *snorts line*

  • @onbradley I already fucked shit up for lunch.

  • @adamrothraisdead Boy! What are you 12 or what? I guess you're an expert on what's punk and not punk. The only similarity between those bands and UPS is that they both lived in North America. Get a clue will you! Maybe you need to spend more time at the mall!

  • @adamrothraisdead don't be a spazz, it's only music. music is about having fun with friends, if you don't understand that then you need to do something else with yourself. FUCK SHIT UPPPPP

  • @thetalkingbrain It sounds like music about having a lot of anal sex with friends, actually.

  • @thetalkingbrain Oh, by the way...I was responding to the juxtaposition between the video's title and what was actually occurring within the video. Superficiality =/= "Real 80's Hardcore Punk Rock"

  • @adamrothraisdead

HaHa, I can't believe people still make these stupid statements!!

  • This music in my opinion was punk, at it's second worst. It was just when all these minor threat wannabes wanted to become the next thing and chose to offend, instead of express.

Think about it guys... was anyone in that video fucking shit up?

  • gahh i wish i was around for this. when i say hardcore people think i mean the stupid screamo shit thats around now :(

  • Useless Pieces of Shit on Disillusion Music Label. Check it out!

  • gay

  • How can you not like this? this is obnoxious hardcore. Oh I guess it's not 1980 enough for ya dislikes!

  • great song. thak you, mate!! from the south of brazil!

  • I know that this was an 80's/ early 90's thing but does anyone know if it is still common to find punk concerts like this?

  • @MrFryguy001 go to the worst areas of any city. look for the guys and girls dressed like bums. ask em where the show is at, and they'll tell you

  • shit ! that's cool stuff,thanx mate :) !

  • Thats whats good about old hardcore--dissonant, raw, non-professional, destructive and dangerous. fuck straight edge. Destroy this world!

  • @onbradley

but come on now, some of the best (hardcore) bands of the 80's were straight edge. i don't give a toe-curling fuck what they're singing about, i don't need somebody to reassess my own ideas to make me feel better about myself. it could be a twelve year old girl singing about the late development of her breasts......if she shows some anger and passion i'll listen.

  • @belsen89 Nah...fuck shit up!

  • @onbradley you got that right!

  • @belsen89

  • @belsen89 Naw, fuck 'em...and fuck shit up!

  • Fucking awesome band

  • wtf that was retarted

  • That pit looked fucking sexy.....I want IN!!

  • yea, and thats nothing like the 14,000 people who hated it and missd the dislike button. CoolesKiddo is upset that he can't get any hits on his videos at all even though they are the coolest mainsteam videos around.

    Cheers mate,

    Charley

  • @TheDoctorVideo i like this guy ^^

  • wow 14 people got so fucked up by watching this they missed the like button

  • MOSH !!

  • This song fucking rules!!!!! FUCK SHIT UP!!!!!!!!

  • this was fucking awesome hahaha i would love to be there

  • Hell yes.

  • punx never die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
