Fender Supersonic clean chanel

Wow, you're pretty highly strung in tone. A supersonic 22 that I tried in the shop had the perfect clean channels already. You must have had either a bad amp or bad guitar, these things sound awesome already!

hola,soy de chile, tengo la version de cabezal, el vibrolx en el mio suena suuuper agudo, tanto q estoy eq con agudos al 2 y medio y bajos al 8, pero ademas el tono de la strato (tengo uno solo gral) al 5-6

El canal burn le falta ganancia a mi parecer, para rock esta bien, pero ya para heavy se queda corta, lo mismo para solos mas pesados, falta ganancia

Por lo que cuentas, demasiado agudo. El combo lleva un Vintage 30, el cual le aporta peso y densidad.

Al segundo canal no le falta ganancia. Tiene muchísima. Probablemente te conviniera llevarlo a revisar.

Hey there - love the tone! I have the supersonic combo too, and it's time to change the tubes. Which tubes are you putting in the preamp, rectifier, and power stages? If I could get my SS to sound like yours, I would be very happy! Thank you!

I like the way this Super Sonic sounds, much better than a stock one. Wish Fender could have figured out what you did, that way we all could have such a nice amp.

I'd be tempted to have my tech try your mods on my SS, but it is not really clear to me what needs to be done.

Mod is for clean, burst and phase inverter.

Resistors are standard carbon film.

I d´ont use polypropylene orange drops in this amp since his response is very modern and does not have relation with original concept. In addition, they would not fit in the PCB. Same with Sozo´s.

90% of the big condensers (10n or more) are the original ones. Only I use two or three polyester film foil RFT (not metallized), polystyrene Siemens for filters and some polyester MKT and tantalum for cathodes.

Ok so no sozo and no orange drop can improve the tone.

Following your description it miss some mod for the big caps to get the sound or is it enough?

I cannot put samples of the lead channel because the amp already is delivered to his owner, but the quality is the same.

With a slight minor final overdrive level it has a fluid and articulate tone, with an unsurpassable relation drive/sustain. Woody classic tone with great balance over the clean chanel.

Guitar is Japanese Classic Strat with SSL1 in center/neck and Cool Rails in bridge. Some sounds in the clip are neck/bridge (Tele style).

Hello. Components that you see over the top are part of the mod. Some go in the top part and others in the low one. Originally they all are installed in the low part.

Supersonic is a very recent ampli. No doubts: they all are equal.

I've been looking at the review you recommended and clicked on the image of the chassis. On closer inspection, I noticed several components soldered onto the outside of the PCB closest to the pots. Were all of those components added in the mod. Since Fender has not yet made the schematic available, I'm wondering whether the amp has changed anything. My PCB's are dated 2006, and yours are 2005. Please let me know if any of those were already there.

The operation is tremendously complex and needs materials and components not accessible at present. If you want that you sound identically (the sound of the sample is a shade of the real one), send your amp to Spain. My profession does not allow me to publish procedure and details.

A very basic procedure to obtain better balance between clean modes.

Extracting the PCB that contains the pots (unscrew another PCB and withdraw it lightly backward to facilitate the access)

- Change C3 (ceramic 470pf/500V) to 150pf/500V or more

- Change C7 (ceramic 120pf/500) to 68pf/500V

- Change R19 (120K) to 82K

- Change R22 (3M3) to 2M

- Once reinstalled the plate, verify the perfect connection of all cables that go from the PCB to the sockets (They can be forced in the operation)

- Use 5751GE in second socket (second nearest to the input jack)

If you d´ont have a lot of experience manipulating amps, it´s better than do not do. Mechanically the construction of this amp is a nightmare.

It´s possible to find with serious problems and I do not admit any responsibility. Good luck!

Man! El mio lo mejoré apenas cambiando las válvulas. Quedo mejor, aunque se nota por este video que el suyo está mas lleno y equilibrado entre los canales. Yá busque en google y encontré el review.

Seria posíble que me pasará las instrucciones de lo que hizo al cambio de un deposito en Paypal o algo así?

Mine has a permanent hiss...even when nothing is plugged and all knobs turn to zero...do you find that normal?

It´s not normal. Take a fresh 12AX7 and replaces each of them beginning with the first one (the nearest to the input). If it does not fix up, try in the second one, and successively until you finds the defective tube

I've replaced all the tube with 12AX7EH Electro Harmonix...i have taken the amp to my technician and he has changed all the cathod resistor with metallic new ones...the hiss is always there. :(

Hopefully for me the send effect is totally quiet. I can make direct record with it.(but i lost the reverb)

No problem with cathode resistors in this amp. From the 3 preamp tubes in line with the power tubes, check the center tube. This is for loop recovery and general pre-driver stage. Between the effect send and the driver (nearest to power tubes) only this tube is in line

The technician has tested all the new tubes...just keep the 2 old 12AT7 because i haven't new and they have been tested as good by the technician.
