@chinkyflygirl1 depends what kind of Asian you are. My whole family going back 3 generations...not a single monolid among us. We're Cantonese, btw, which tend to look less stereotypically Mongoloid.

just tried this like a minute ago and it works realllllyyy well. i had eyeliner on and some gold eyeshadow and i couldn't tell that it was there unless my eye was closed and i was an inch away from the mirror.
im half white and half asian and i have asian shaped eyes its not that i dont love my eyes but if im gonna go to the effort of putting on eye shadow id like it to be seen this is a great technique thnks

But this lady was a teacher in South Korea and these girls were in her class playing with eyelid tape and glue. Supposedly it's so they will look more American. :( I don't get it... I'm American and living here makes me see the ugly side of people. haha. Ahh but the saddest part of it all is these kids in Korea get eyelid surgeries as sweet 16 gifts.

@OhValerieMonCherie monolids are ethnic to SOME asians. the prevalence is actually about half and half. Pretty much the entire southern half of China has natural double lids. I'm from hong Kong and whenever I see someone with a monolids I always assume they're from Mainland China, ie: somewhere "up north." Since most people have double lids if they're of Cantonese descent.

People who are missing eyes wear glass eyes. There is no harm in that! xD
I just use lash glue and apply a thin line 1/4 inch from my lash line, removing excess with a cotton swab. Wait until it's almost clear and use a y-stick to press it in. Only bad thing, you can't wear eyeshadow

The people in US only think of Asians as uglier and the TV shows and media always hire those actresses but in reality, Hong Kong and Shanghai girls are typically slimmer than Americans and have immaculate style. They are also very pretty and delicate with double lids and great makeup. You walk down a street in NYC and it's pretty sad.

I bought the eyelid tape from tv, dreamlook, i think and your way is so much less expensive and looks great. wish i had watched your video first. great job.
@MakeupTheNerd dont use eyeshadow.. use eyeliner.. and make sure you cut the tape very thin when you put the liner on, put in on top of the end of the tape.. I guess it takes practice because at first it was very uncomfortable for me as well.. but I suggest only at night when you go out it really helps with the smokey look.
@MakeupTheNerd i think that putting on a bigger piece of tape overnight, then peeling it off in the morning could make it so it turns into a natural double eyelid after a while... i'm asian and i have natural double eyelids, but my friend tried it and said that it works:)
I'm white and I have very obvious double lids. I've always preferred the look of mono lids though, especially with extreme make up colours. You asian girls are so pretty!
Be CAREFUL! Yes, you can use household tape to make it LOOKED the way you want, but household tapes are made of chemical that are more toxic than, say, medical tapes or those made for eyes. I am a formulation chemist. That's why they are cheap. There are a lot of things going on that eyes can't see or you can't feel, but it goes into the body and does a lot of damage!

@Kra7as.... almost all women (white, black, hispanic, etc) try to do a cat eye/winged eyeliner which to me looks like their trying to have asian eyes/cat eyes.

What i found that worked was that if u wear it for a longer period of time like say sleep with it on over night then if u take it off in the morining it creates a double eye lid and then u can do ur make up. I had lik uneven eyelids one was half monolid and the other was a double lid,but now that i used that method my eye lids are even

Be CAREFUL! Yes, you can use household tape to make it LOOKED the way you want, but household tapes are made of chemical that are more toxic than, say, medical tapes or those made for eyes. I am a formulation chemist. That's why they are cheap. There are a lot of things going on that eyes can't see or you can't feel, but it goes into the body and does a lot of damage!

@DolceVita haha. I'm not black, yet my nose is not a favorite feature of mine. haha. I can deal with it, but ehhh.. haha. I love my lips though. I like my eyes. But I would rather have an Asian double eyelid look. But I don't sit and wish it could be possible because I really appreciate how I am now. But I do admit to using makeup, just to highlight the things I do like about myself. haha. I hope more people will appreciate their natural selves.

I'm not Asian, but it's so mean when people tease asians about their eyes. plus it's stupid because every culture has their weaknesses, like look at how hairy and coarse white people's skin is. they get so many wrinkles. black people have even nicer eyes than whites

you know, if you leave them on overnight, they will make a double lid. take the tape off in the morning and you will see. it works for my friend! just make the tape a little thicker maybe.. for the over night part. just a suggestion (:

@koubenlin It IS true that minority of white ppl would tan themselves nowadays with the raised awareness of skin cancer. Nonetheless a lot, and LOTS still opt for FAKE tan, just like how these fake eyelids are. The reason are? Cuz paler skin just doesn't really go that nice with colorful tops and all etc. Same to that, a minority of monolids can be naturally beautiful in their own eye shapes but a lot actually looks pretty tired and also the smudgey eyeliner fact. Hence.

What i found that worked was that if u wear it for a longer period of time like say sleep with it on over night then if u take it off in the morining it creates a double eye lid and then u can do ur make up. I had lik uneven eyelids one was half monolid and the other was a double lid,but now that i used that method my eye lids are even
