A potentially neater way of removing the colour from the second layer is by just using a layer mask, or by using an inverted mask on a hue/saturation adjustment layer that completely desaturates. Just throwing out some alternatives for people. :)
everytime i hit ok after selecting a color to keep a pop up opens saying no pixels were selected or some BS like that and the colors arent outlined so i cant use magicwand tool
