  • Her story was just unreal, and how well ajusted she is blows my mind.

I will have to get the book

  • Hi Jessie!

It's definitely worth the read, but don't make the mistake I did by reading it at night....makes for rather unpleasant sleep if ya know what I mean... S.

  • Jam packed is right!! Always good to see ya girl!! Blessings, Ang

  • Hi Ang, hugs to you & Ed!

    S.

  • Yay you got a bracelet too! Melissa is awesome!

I thought I was subscribed to JeepGirl2, will definitely remedy that! Thanks for the reminder.

I'll check out that book. What a horrible thing.

    Awesome vlog Sandi!

    Miss you!

    Hugs!

  • Miss you, too Lori!! At least you & me are in the same time zone!

I want to thank you for your video on panic attacks. I don't want to make a full video about it to preserve some privacy for the involved person, but he appreciated it, too.

    S.

  • Sandi, that makes me feel really good. You are very welcome. If you have any questions you know where to reach me. :)

  • I loved that shirt Beth was wearing, how cool that you got one!

Cool phone thingy, that would have been perfect for ST3.

  • Hi Darylnumbernumbernumber!

    Mwah!

    S.

  • I just checked and it is by the same maker = Golla! Mine is red! LOL

  • After reading your tweet about this, I clicked on the link you provided and read the story.. This guy is just crazy and the little girl who survived is amazing. She is so brave! What a horrific story! To think he is still sitting on death row!

I have a phone bag alot like that.. I'll have to check and see who makes it.. It was my first cover thing I got for my phone! I love it and clip it onto my belt loop at times, especially at the beach! :D Good to see you Sandi!!! xoxo

  • Hi Judy! I LOVE that new bag! They had it in pink & brown, too...I'm considering going back to get another. I'm not sure how well it showed on camera, but this one is a nice light purple color.

And yes, Carmina has been very brave throughout this whole ordeal. The book is a difficult read for me because I've been just about everywhere mentioned in the book. Makes my stomach hurt. :(

  • Very cute bracelet. OMG what horrible story. I never actually heard of that. I'll have to look around and see if I can find that book. I do remember hearing about that earthquake. I've never been in an earthquake and something tells me I wouldn't deal with it very well lol : )

  • Hi Alesha! LTNS,

The book actually just came out last week. It's been sold out everywhere around here. Good luck finding it!

I dreamed that I was in an earthquake last night...I deal with them pretty well, but it was SO vivid last night...ugh!

    S.

  • Wow!!! Thank you Sandi!! :0) You rock!!

Yup I like blue glass too...and v-neck 3/4 sleeve shirts...have a bunch of both. LOL

    Go Team! :0)

  • Hi Joyce!

    How's training?

    Go Team!

    S.

  • It's going great!!! :0) I love it so much! I think I like this training better than cycle training...shhhh, dont' tell them that! hee hee

I am looking in to walking the New Orleans half marathon with the group too...but just sign up and go.

Also looking into the Hike event that is going to start recruiting in January..I might do that too...or maybe even mentor for it.

    Yup, I'm a TNT addict! LOL ;0)

  • Beth and Melissa are both sweethearts! I will check out Joyce.

Carmina is surely a hero, I did get to watch her story on 20/20 and I could not even imagine how a creature could do such a horrible thing!

  • Hey Plunger-lady!

Yup, both Beth & Melissa are pretty awesome!

I'm about half way through the book...tough read..brave young lady...

    S.

  • Hey Sandi. Great video. Hope you and the family are having a nice weekend! -Jim

  • Hi Jim!

We genuinely enjoy spending time together no matter what we're doing. It can be as simple as sitting around playing a game or just helping the boys with homework...life is good! :)

    S.

  • Cool iPhone thing!! HUgs.

  • TY Van, I really like it. I haven't used a purse since I bought it (MAJOR plus in my book...I kinda hate 'em!)

    S.

  • I watched 20/20 Friday night and it is amazing that this girl can even talk about it. I was so impressed with her. What an awful thing! I remember the earth quake! I was in the evening here but I remember thinking, oh, all those poor people! I was in front of the TV ready to watch.

  • Hi Barb! OMG, I wanted to slap several people at her Q&A session & book signing that day. They asked the most inappropriate questions, and she handled it with grace. I was really proud of her. I keep making the mistake of reading the book at night, and then have disturbing images all night. I'm about half way through it, I'm going to have to get into the habit of reading in the morning or something.

    S.

  • That poor thing! Hasn't she been through enough only to be subjected to thoughless people. I would have had to say something. In situations like that I can't hold my tongue. I wish I were better at rubber band shooting! Yeah, don't read before bed, that story will certainly disturb your sleep! xo

  • Yikes, lots of anniversaries. I bet your time is more accurate than what they say on the news. I hope Jonny's team won the homecoming. WOOT!!

  • Hi Beth, sorry for the late reply. I was just frustrated with YT and the lack of comment stickage...

Actually...Jonny's school did it bass-ackwards this year. The parade was last weekend, and the homecoming game & dance are this coming weekend. Makes perfect sense, right? Uh...no.

He doesn't care about the dance this year, but I know that he & Alex will be going to the game. :)

    S.

  • I shall head over to Joyce's channel to see if she did a video about it. I have been missing much lately. So much to do, so little time. You're welcome once again :) I should have gotten a Spam holder for me too. I may go get one yet haha Too funny :) I did watch that 20/20. What a horrible man. I can't believe the daughter actually went to visit him in prison. And she was SMILING in the photo with him and then talking bad about him. Uh, DUH!!! HE TRIED TO KILL YOU, FOOL!! Goodness.

  • Nope, Joyce hasn't made a video about it. I hope she does. (Nag, nag, nag!)

She (Carmina) did discuss the photo and going to see Ramon. She said that she basically removed herself from the moment. She knew that her smile was of a "real" person with real feelings and that she is an optimist. She knew that his smile was absolutely fake. She was back here for almost 2 yrs. before going to see him. All she wanted was for him to take some responsibility for actions...we know that (cont)

  • No, I have not made a video about it. I need to get back here and tell y'all what I've been up to! :0)

  • didn't happen. She said she had an "OMG, AHA!" moment last night while she was watching 20/20 when she saw him on the plane smirking & smiling about what he'd done, it sounded like she herself couldn't believe she'd seen him after seeing that footage.

  • I think that she has done very well at removing herself from all that. I wouldn't doubt that she even saw that photo of him smirking because they did say that her adoptive parents shielded her from all of that, keeping that info out of her life, etc. I also just thought of something. Sometimes people have a natural reaction to smiling for a camera. Remember how they said even with her cut neck and bruised up as a 3 y/o she SMILED for the Polaroid? Amazing the human spirit.

  • Agreed...

Ack, gotta go get those man-boy-beasts that I call sons...they're umpiring tonight...back in a bit!

  • I got a bracelet from Melissa too and it's so beautiful isn't it? I love it.

Ya know I was going to tell Beth but never got around to it. But that girl has some gorgeous clothes. Everything I seen her in I was thinking omg that's so pretty.

  • Hi Charlene,

    Aren't those bracelets great?!

And yes...Beth is a great dresser!

  • wow the audio is out of sync... this happened to one of my videos last week too!

  • Hi John,

    Feeling any better?

Yeah, the sync sucked, but I wasn't going to re-do the video. It might get a little better...I hope...

    S.

  • Thanks for telling us about JeepGirl2 I will be sure and get with her.

I saw the horrible story on 20/20, I will have to read Carmina's story, she really has a lot of strength. I was living in So. Cal when the earth quake hit and I was driving home from work. I called my friend in the bay area and I got through so I left a message.

I have a blackberry, do they make that case for other phone? Nice gifts from Melissa and Beth.

  • Hi GiGi!

I bet that the blackberry would fit. If you go to their page, it shows where you can buy their stuff, and shows the communications line of items that they carry. Measure your blackberry & I'll see if it would fit.

    S.

  • My blackberry is 2 1/2 x 4 1/4 and I went to the website and they do have many that fit... cool : )

    Thanks,

    Gigi

  • Much Love ...Travis

  • hey poopsie!

    xoexo

  • Mwah Travis Jay!

  • I remember that earth quake well Sandi. I guess it was because of the World Series and that huge double bridge falling. Oh I'm so glad the bracelet fit and you like it! Woot! I hope your friend raises tons of money. Hugs and Smooches!

  • your hair looks cute today

    nice gifts!

oh wow how crazy about the murders. ill look that up

    xoexo

  • Hey woman!! Are you back??? TY re: the hair. It's a really short haircut that fixed a bad haircut that fixed a bad haircut....I was about to give up & have her shave my head.

If you go to pressdemo dawt com and look for Carmina Salcido, you'll find lots of info. Or go to the ABC 20/20 website and you can see last nights broadcast. It's heartwrenching.

    Miss you girlie!

    S.

  • still no internet at home. today im being a poop guest and have commandeered my friends computer :P

    ill check it out

    xoexo

  • Yeah well Eden, what are friends for? Sometimes they just need to be co-dependent with ya...

    ;)

    S

  • That book sounds amazing. I will see if I can find a copy. (Nice to se you, I have missed being on YT)

  • Psst...Mo...you have pie crust on your shirt & chip dust on your shoulders...what am I gonna do with you?

    :)

The book just came out this week, so maybe you can find it in your library soon. It was sold out everywhere around here, but was to be expected.

    S.

  • I think I need someone to hose me down. Did you see that ball of cat fur on my knee? maybe hose down the cats also.

  • I saw the furball...but ya know...I wasn't gonna say anything just yet. If it was still there next week, then maybe...

  • I was in an old masonry building on Natoma and 2nd Street in the City. What I remember most was a kind woman who stopped her day to direct traffic, the exodus on foot from downtown and, oh, yeah, the street party that broke out afterwards. We were all thankful to be alive. Peace.

  • Good story Robert. And nice memory about the lady. I do really remember a HUGE sense of community immediately afterward. It was like people quit being jerks for a few days and remembered that we were all in that boat together and helped however the could.
