  • This song reminds me of my parents and my childhood. We would listen to Pat Benatar ALL THE TIME! I thought I was grown being able to say "HELL". LOL! I LOVE PAT!!! Shes the reason I LOVE ROCK MUSIC!! She gave little girls and women HOPE! LOVE HER!

  • my mom hates her. especially this song.but that's because my mom abused me and my siblings growing up.plus she is a religious nut on top of being unstable.i'm 41 and my mom still tries at times to abuse me.glad we don't live in the state though.plus glad i did not live with her when i was a teenager.but my father was abusive to.now my older sister is a lot like my parents and she abuses her 2 kids.dcfs has been called on my sister several times but she got to keep her kids.

  • @shan12stones FUCK YOU... I LOVE THIS SONG AND PAT BENATAR. SHE WROTE THIS SONG BECAUSE SHE READ AND ARTICEL ABOUT CHILDREN BEING ABUSED.. LEAN YOUR ROCK HISTORY AND PAT BENATARS BIO..

  • @SexySandy32388 excuse me learn how to read.i did not say anything bad about this video dumb ass and i know what's it about.plus pat mentioned it on behind the music.reread my original post

  • And defenitly check out the last 50 seconds of the song..its my favorite...just click on my name

  • I have an unbeleveable video of this..please post i sent it to you...everyoneelse check it out its HD stereo and FRONT ROW

  • "Love is a battlefield" cover by CBE recording artist Sabrina Antoinette.

  • if you like this song i have the best live version on youtube check out my channel..its HD stereo FRONT ROW!!!

  • I used to have a big problem with this song until I really listened to it and figured out what it was about.

  • @itsinthenet kindly share your reasoning of this song. what is it about? tell us.

  • @smokesignal216 I question whether I should even dignify that with an answer. Have you read ANY of the posts besides mine.

This song is about child abuse and the hell they go through when they are being abused.

When I first heard the song, I think I was 11. And, I did not recognize that (I did not know much about child abuse, Thank God). I thought it she was saying children belong in Hell (Hell EXISTS for children).

It was when I heard it again at 19 that I realized this.

  • @itsinthenet I did not hear the lyrics. what made you believe it ways something other than what it sounds like? ok I probably talking to people who can't think straight & practice satanism as benatar. 200 thousand children each year disappear in USA alone while vatican, entertainment industry & US capital is filled with pedos & child murdering psychopaths going to war to kill innocent children & enslave the rest. She should be singing hell is for pedos.

  • @smokesignal216 Point taken and there was a better way to state the point that would not cause the confusion (make it sound like children belong in hell).

But, you really need to be careful about taking things out of context. I think it was excusable for me as I was only 11 at the time. But, since I'm older (I can only assume that you are an adult as well), it is not. You need to really listen to the lyrics here.

This is the last I am going to say about this.

  • i got this album for my birthday when i was 10 and my mom threw it out because of the title of this song. (she also made me throw out my breakfast in america album because of a lyric from goodbye stranger).

  • I think it's amazing that there is a side of Pat Benatar that few other people know:

the classical music student who decline admission to Juilliard to go to a top school for health (Stony Brook), the woman who cared deeply about child abuse, etc.

  • @PolitcalIslam so you see any difference since then? the situation is worse. with the forced drugging of children, the killing of children in wars & starvations. the fact that the USA runs the world's child sex trade industry & violates human right laws, & abuses families. that every year in USA alone more than 200,000 children disappear, victims of the satanists that run this country & the secret societies. and this sick woman singing hell is for children as satanists control media & music.

  • @smokesignal216 You's trolling....

  • @smokesignal216 Beg to differ... several countries (third world) are far worse then the US is. Some still have legal slavery in parts of their nations. We may have a problem but those are reported, in those third world nations they go unreported...so there is no telling the number. We came across mass graves in Iraq. I dont recall any mass graves here.

  • @Bear44mc USA television reported that the world's child sex trade is run from USA. Most child disappearances are not reported. The numbers are about 250,000 children per year disappear & never seen again every single year in USA alone. The situation never improved & got worse. USA government inaction run by pedos. Accept facts & then act to stop this evil. I do not know who is worse the crazy psychopaths who do all the crimes or the supposedly sane public who allow it to happen. MayaBell. com

  • @smokesignal216 Not saying the US doesnt have an issue here.. just saying that the world is a far worse place then here in the US. Stop and consider the scope of this, the size of the nation, number of people in it. You really should reread my post and not attack those who post other facts. (That this world has worse places then here). Misdirected anger will accomplish nothing. I find more "pedos" in schools and churches then in the Government (via the news).

  • @Bear44mc USA runs the world's child sex trade. USA is run by Satanists & more than 200,000 children every year disappear in the USA alone; victims of child sacrifice & pedos & shipped to other parts of the world to be used as sex slaves. USA also is a war profiteering, weapons trading drug trading criminals, but that does not bother me as much as their jailing innocent people & selling, using & abusing children & families. You know nothing about what is happening.

  • @smokesignal216 How many kids leave home of their own accord, we dont know. How many of them think they can make it on their own, when they cant, end up in bad places? I am not denying anything you posted- just saying I have seen first hand mass graves of women and children- all overseas, none here. Just how am I/ are we suppose to stop this crime... its often in private places where I am not, we are not. Insulting the sanity of peeps you dont know is wrong. None of my freinds would allow this

  • @Bear44mc they do not leave because they want to. they are abused and the government is also abusing them and not protecting them. as this movie shows, nobody believed those kids or helped them to get good evidence. also in this messed up system, both kids & adults are put in jail based on false testimony of people who are neither sane nor trustable. the government pays well for false witnesses & sends people to death based on it. also professional murderers well paid by the fascist government.

  • @Bear44mc - Guess you haven't seen the borders of Arizona and New Mexico, my friend. Ever heard of rape trees?

  • @Bear44mc the government is run by pedos & child murderers. while USA sanctioned Iran for daring to have free trade of oil instead of the monopolies of USA backed oil cartels who pay no taxes, get USA subsidies & use our army & our $ to fight their oil monopoly claims while they murder & sodomize children around the world & in USA. Oriental nations had child prost for years yet USA had no problem trading with those countries. You won't see the mass graves in USA, our government controls media.

  • Why didn't Ms.Benatar address the two other forms of child abuse,

Both of which happened to me...

    Psychological& Emotional abuse?

  • 1980's Fridays was the west coasts' answer to the east coasts SNL...

  • Man was Neil a fox, big time!

  • cobs version is much better

  • A very powerful song about child abuse!

  • she is one of the best

  • I really think this song was meant for children that are abused. I have been listening this song over 30 years, and it is a great song! Enjoy and take it for what it is.

  • I love you Pat!

  • Sounds like the song was written by Iron Maiden, or something like that. I could mosh to this tune. But it's way beautiful as well, with a tragic subject.

  • @sinbysin666 BOC has a song about psychical abuse called Joan Crawford..( which I can't bear to listen to these days...It hits too close tohome forme... the other forms abuse were dealt to me by my parents Psychological& Emotional abuse

  • @Freyja1133 That's tough. Fire of Unknown Origin happens to be one of my favorite albums.

  • Excellent tune. I always imagined Alice Cooper covering this song. would be wicked!

  • When I was in a youth crisis shelter with this kid who had been horribly abused and committed suicide because of his abuse, I dedicated this song to him. His abusers should go to the lowest hell there is.

  • Great performance!

  • God Bless you Pat Benatar . You may think your song didn't make a difference, but it did.

  • Why is she singing elephant children? Is this song about the poor circus elephant babies that get taken away from their mothers when they are just babies. Sad.

  • @Violacousness lol ur stupid u dont even kno what the songs about

  • I don't get it. Why is she singing such a creepy, crummy song as this? Does she hate kids?

  • @guyNbluejeans It's about child abuse. Back in the '70's it was a taboo subject to even talk about. She was trying to bring the reality of it to the general public's attention.

  • @TheInevitableHimes Okay. Thanks!

  • @guyNbluejeans Ummm noooo... She wrote the song because she was moved by the articles she read about children being abused. She donates all the money generated by this song in royalties to organizations that help abused kids.

  • @tall32guy Okay. Thanks, and good for her for being so decent.

  • @guyNbluejeans Oh, no! Not at all! She knows that thousands of kids get abused every day, and this song is trying to tell people about it, and make it stop and make a difference. :)

  • @Amor4everz Someone else already pointed that out. I thank you just the same.:-)

  • @guyNbluejeans

    Ur welcome! :)

  • One of the best female vocalists in the industry ever. I bet she still can sing like a siren. She should do a comeback!

  • Pat and Spider still together, hope you caught them on Oprah, she asked how they stay a couple so long... "She's always right", was Neil's response. He's playing his BCRich Eagle here

  • The greatest female rock star hands down.

  • PAT ROCKS!!!! She was SOOO freaking hot!

  • This song is creepy. I still don't get it.

  • @MiamiCat23 Song is about child abuse.

  • @MiamiCat23 Saw her tonight here in Cincinnati...she told the story about how this song came about...back in 1980, the NY Times ran a big article about Child Abuse, which wasn't talked about at all...physical and sexual abuse basically...she said it angered and saddened her and she had to write what thoughts it brought up...Neil (her guitarist and soon to be husband...now of 30 yrs btw...wrote the music to it...she will play this song at every concert/show she does until every child is safe.

  • @buckeyefan20012001 wow that is great, never heard that, thanx, she was great live right????

  • Just saw her last night in Reno. 58 years old and she still kicks major ass!

    Unbelievable show...

  • wow. i have the chills. pat n her man i luv you two

  • Why didn't PAt benatar address Verbal abuse in this song?

  • One of the best bands of all time.

  • This song and music video should be sent to CPS across America and to ChildhelpUSA. To date, I haven't met an adult who was an abused child that both places didn't failed to protect. Sadly, the American Family Courts are still messed up. There are countless innocent children who are not being protected. Two excellent cases for examples were the Elizabeth Mogan case and recently the Anthony case. At least,Elena Mitrano (Hillary Morgan) These are reasons why I advocate for the voiceless.

  • yeah the reason (the song) is for stop the crasy peapole attacking every children

  • 5 ft. nothing, maybe a 100 lbs. Trained in classical and it shows. GOT THE PIPES!!!!

  • geeez...what losers...

  • What a great guitar player!!!!

  • Have to agree, this transfers across to animal abuse as well as child abuse. WTG Pat. This song never dates, still love it, still gives me chills when I hear it.

  • Hell should NEVER be for children. It is so sad to see children who have to endure abuse....as a father, I cannot imagine making my children suffer like that in any way!

  • 2011 and I’m still hitting replay on this song! I LOVE PAT BENETAR! DAMN she can sing her booty off! Her strength, beauty, and kick ass attitude has been such a huge inspiration to me being a female singer! She has paved the way for female rock singer! I am in a pop/punk band called HEY YOU. If any of you PB fans would like to give it a try, we just put up a new video, and would love it if you would let us know what you think.... = )

Search: hey you band taking over

  • Why cant bands play like that nowdays

  • This song HITS me hard everytime I hear it

    Tho I was'nt abused as a CHILD

It HITS me HARD because I LOVE CHILDREN very much

They should play tis song to Casey Anthony

At least LITTLE Casey is in HEAVEN now

I HOPE Casey ROTS in HELL

CHILDREN are to be LOVED not ABUSED

  • my mom used to listen to this song all the time while i was growing up and for the longest time i thought she was pissed at me

  • i worked for 34 years in law enforcement and it was my pleasure to tell the prisoners that there new jail mate was a child abuser. Those guys and women had a way to deal with them.

  • child abusers should be publicaly tortured and humiliated.that would be a step in the right dirrection.the laws need to be changed for scum who strike or sexually abuse children.children are the most precious gift.hell awaits those who abuse children

  • She is already beautiful, but if she had long hair, she'd be gorgeous..

  • @Rockette2RockerChic i disagree, her elfin-like features were made for the pixie cut. long hair would wash her face out and make it stand out less. also it'd look less badass.

  • this is well written & Pat knocks it out singing on of my favorite songs form her.

  • Damn Neil was so fuckin' HOT!!! What a hot rock couple; look at 'em.

  • this lady kicks ass! love her beats

  • I love this song, due to the fact that I was also an abused child. NEVER hit anyone, rather it be a child or not. Violence has never solved anything. and it is really unfortunate that this cruel world has come to that.

  • One of Pat Benatars best songs and so true, when I hear about abusings it makes me want to tear the abusers to pieces

  • nice song, but i think CoB's is better

  • spyders bc rich is epic. O.o

  • pat rules!!!

  • This is an abusive commentary, ain't it

  • @Lindawatcher You're just another money-hungry pussy ass bitch who can't stand up for themselves. When a cop starts hitting you, that's your cue top start smashing the top of their skull in with whatever's laying around.

  • Lets see! What shall I buy next with my "Lawsuit money? HEE HEE!! Here comes a good ole honkin large-screen TV.......

  • I LOVE PAT BENATAR

  • its better when Children of Bodom sings it

  • @123456789littledog - Ever heard the Benatar' album version? C of B suck on this song. Listen to Benatar's live version 30 years after the album release. Pat Benatar Live 7-09-10. Even after 30 years live, the current version rocks over this version and C of B!!!!!!!

  • For some reason I remember this on TV. Was this Saturday Night Live? Can't remember.

  • This is amazing.

  • WHEN U LISTEN TO THESE KINDS OF MUSIC,MAKE SURE NOBODY MAKES U ANGRY THEN U DO STUPID STUFF,CAUSE U CANT HANDLE SONGS LIKE THIS THAT MOTIVATE TO PAYBACK THOSE WHO HURT U,U NEED SELF CONTROL,CAUSE ITS NOT PATS FAULT,ITS YUR FAULT FOR DRINKING,TAKING IT LITERALY TO YUR MIND,ENJOY THE MUSIC,HAVE FUN HELL IS FOR CHIRLDREN WHO END UP IN PRISON,JAIL,ON THE STREETS,HOMELESS WHO ARE LOST,ABUSED,ABONDONED,ITS OK TO HEAR THIS SONG OF HELL,AS LONG AS U KNOW UR NOT THE ONE WHOS GONNA PAY,THEN ITS SCARY.

  • im 19 and i grew up listening to Pat Benatar. I got to see her live a couple years ago and she sang this. i had never heard it before then. She sang it with so much emotion and powerful energy. It felt like you got shot with a high volt of electricity. It was amazing. I got to shake her hand that night. :) she rocks my socks off.

  • Pat Benatar is Canadian

  • @cliiff2 Patricia Mae Andrzejewski (Pat Benatar) was born in Brooklyn, NY.

  • that is not for children

  • Pat Benatar is playing in so many porn movies... Just saying :D

  • @mammuttisusi If Pat Doesn't kick your ass for that comment I bet Samantha Fox would be in line next.

  • ...and children will go to hell if when they grow up, they will produce fake-autotune voices in songs.... remember the times with pat benatar, were u had 2 have talent to be famous, and not 12 million dollars?!

  • AWESOME LIke Blonde they are the Best xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • abuse

  • pat rules period!!!!

  • Our childhood was a living hell, with a drunken father coming home and smashing up the house, and whoever got in his way as he attacked my mother! Thank God, the abuse finally stopped after he left for 3.5 years! Love, BobbyK

  • Pat Benatar is the hottest Australian singer of all time!

  • @Hunkola Huh? What are you talking about? Pat Benatar is American.

  • @Hunkola you must be high... she's from New York...

  • Yeah Nick Geraldo, her HUSBAND of many decades....he rocks, also classically trained! The quote "Hell is for Children" however is taken out of context here. But still brilliant song.

  • the guitar guy is hot lol

  • @MusicPoursDown I think that's her husband, Spider. Not 100% sure though.

  • I prefer COBHC's cover!!!!!

  • I love this video!!! best singer ever!!!!!!!!

  • pat benatar is one of my favorite arist of all time

  • LOVE IT.

  • Pat is an angel from Heaven. Period. I have spoken . Believe it.

  • guitarist on the left really loves himself.

  • I really love this song from Pat!

  • You do know that adults go to hell, right?

  • I love Benatar I had all of her music. But after time goes by. Joan Jett was a harder rocker. Where are today's lady rockers?? I'd love to hear them.

  • Your absolutely correct. Pat has 8 full octaves. A rare find. Most people have 1 or 2 if they are lucky.

  • love this song .. i remember when it came out hearing the idiots who never "listened " to the words , say Pat was glorifying child abuse...stupid judgmental people. Who, could ever derive to that conclusion...they made those remarks based on what others were saying and never listened for themselves.

it is this very song that reminds me to listen first when it comes to music, Before what others may think or say.

  • I've met Pat in person. She is a very short person. But she has the largest vocal chords. She can literally blow you away.

  • One word.....SPYDER!!!!!!

  • May not like Pat Benatar over all. but I do like this song. She's a good singer. her music isn't my style. but I do love the sentiments she's expressed here.

  • Pat Benatar is the hotest girl whos in their 50s that i know

  • @jurabelle, I disagree. It must be incredibly difficult going through life with no brain.

  • She is not one of the best, she is the best! To be able to wail like that and hold a note is absolutely remarkable. So glad she turned to Rock 'n' Roll. A close second is Nancy Wilson from Heart. 40 people need to take their heads out of their asses.

  • She is not one of the best, she is the best! To be able to wail like that and hold a note is absolutely remarkable. So glad she turned to Rock 'n' Roll. A close second is Nancy Wilson from Heart.

  • thought she moved to Hawaii and married with children.

  • This is one of the songs that I will turn the volume up on in my SUV--if I'm alone. I survived child abuse and domestic violence. My two oldest children were abused by their 'father' who abused them when he couldn't get to me after we split up. Sometimes, I cry when I hear this; but, I always replay it (I have it on a CD).

  • @rebelrose1863 I worked in law enforcement for 15 years...I lost my job smashing a child/domestic abuser in the head with my baton. He'd been through the system so many times he 'assured' me he'd walk on this charge as well. He ended up with a skull fracture and 90 days in jail after a six month stay in the hospital. I lost my job, and ended up paying all his medical expenses and litigation against me is still pending. And....I would do it again. God bless you....

  • @Tim22410 : I am sorry that you lost your job & are in litigation because of this creep. I've been married almost 19 years to a now retired deputy sheriff (he retired in 2007 after 28 1/2 yrs with the same dept). A lot of people would not believe the stories he has told me. My abuse was worse than some; not as bad as some. My husband saw me typing this and asked me to let you know that he still has flashbacks/nightmares/PTSD due to some of the child abuse that he responded to.

  • @Tim22410, right on, brother!!! If it ever happens again, hit the bastard until that skull fracture looks like the Grand Canyon. Then he can't get up to falsely testify, you keep your job and there are no medical expenses to worry about.

  • @SgtCrom thanks for the support! Sometimes doing the 'wrong' thing, is actually, doing the 'right' thing.

  • @Tim22410

Good for you! I would do the same. The legal system here sucks, where you can't legally act to protect defenseless women and children.

  • @Tim22410 good on you.Hang all the preverts.

  • @Tim22410 sorry to hear what happened bro:( but your not alone in that i would lose my job for the same reason so I do hope one day the good karmic reaons for your act will be paid with good fortune for you-Salute

  • @Tim22410 God bless you, sir. Child abusers deserve the worst.

  • @Tim22410

You should get your job back. FUCK abusers. They deserve the violence they dish out, ten fold.

  • Thank you... from a survivor of abuse. Sorry you lost your job, etc. But karma will come around for you. :)

  • @Tim22410 This is the man you are paying dearly for hurting! I will continue to follow you to the ends of the Eart!... To sue you so many times over that you will NEVER have two pennies to rub together! You will be too poor to pay attention when we get done financially raping your ass! Get used to beans and rice my friend... because financially= = you are toast!

  • @Lindawatcher Are you serious? You're hurting? Lol...wah wah wah. If you are the trash that Tim threw out then you only got half of what you deserved. But that's ok because you will get yours in the end (literally and figuratively I'm sure.) Better start looking over your shoulder, you can't sue everyone and you can't take it to hell with you. By the way, how did it feel to be on the receiving end, you twisted p.o.s?

  • @Moneypenny9971 The bible even talk about child abuse..... ever hear of the verse: "Suffer the little children?" SEE!..... they are to suffer!!!

  • @Lindawatcher Children don't need to suffer. I don't care what book you read that from. Start using common sense.

  • @johnnyray1717 Those Damn screaming rug rats definately did something wrong/stupid that deserves it........... Boy are they a pain in the ass!

  • @Lindawatcher LoL...fail troll is fail.

  • @Moneypenny9971 GOTCHA! lol lol Love pissing people off and playing devil's advocate! Pepole are sooooo gullable! lol lol Well, gotta go... got to go BEAT my kids! lolllolololool

  • @Lindawatcher You got that complete warped. The verse is about children wanting to come up to Jesus and his Apostles were telling the kids to go away and leave him alone. He said back to them "Suffer not the little children and forbid them not to come unto me: for to such belongeth the kingdom of heaven." He's telling them not to hassle the kids and let them come to him. How people can twist that to justify child abuse is mind-boggling and evil.

  • @Tim22410 , I think they should be beaten and if they die in the process oh well, no children would have to worry about being abused by that piece of trash again. I'm sorry to hear about your circumstance, I would have done the same thing.

  • @Tim22410 You are my hero.

  • @Tim22410 You AND your family, if you still have one...

  • @Tim22410 BUT thank you for smashing an abuser's head in.

  • @Tim22410 two wrongs don't make a right. Abuse is abuse, whether its an adult abusing a child or a dirty pig abusing his authority and smashing somebodys head in .

  • @bigrigJim But, two negatives make a positive. :/

  • @Tim22410 Good for you but if it was me? I would have shot him instead to make sure he never hurt a kid again. (Thats why I never got into the police force, I don't trust myself w/a gun. I forever be in paperwork!) :P

  • @Tim22410 there is no way you should have gotten fired for that! talk about unfair and totally discriminatory

  • @Tim22410 pity it wasnt a gun.

  • @Tim22410 I hope and pray something better is ahead for you at the end of the tunnel...don't you just love how the law protects those animals and people that would make great foster parents get caught up in red tape??

  • @rebelrose1863

It hurts to listen to, because it strikes so close to home. But you have a right to be angry and sad. Pat Benetar addresses a very painful and ugly issue; that of child abuse. I stumbled on this site by accident, but I was very glad to do so. I stopped being a victim when I faced down my father at age 15 with an axe in my hands. But the pain is still there. It's hard to get over being hurt where you were supposed to have been nurtured. I tried to say more, but characters ran out.

  • @shannon1234550 There are times that I listen to it over and over, like I'm doing now. My husband's home now, so I shouldn't keep doing it--the song really bothers him because he had to deal with this issue as a deputy sheriff.

I'm dealing with PTSD again because of an incident in January--and the PTSD goes back to when I was 3 and saw my mom catch on fire; child abuse; domestic violence.......Survived it, but in a way I didn't.
