i noticed that you where using nail polish remover to clear off the faceup. it's a great idea, but solvants are harmful to the plastic. I suggest using 150 grit or finer sandpaper.

@sealettuce she explained that its only ok to use it if you don't leave it on and depends on what kind your using. and 150 grit! no way thats harsh as harsh can be you want to use 1000 grit

If its a type four or you got it in 2009+ you should just CAREFULLY pull they wig off. If it dosent work try again. If not its rooted. Grab some cutter for tha t:)
