This is heartbreaking to see - knowing he was ripped off his murdered mother's dead body (there is no other way). Chimps begin to grow teeth around three months old, so looking at his teeth, he is probably around FIVE months old. He has a strong grunt and his eyes show signs of life.
If you google "Jin Chimp Cameroon" you will see more pictures of him - so I hope this means he pulled through.
The hoarse pneumonia cough is identical to that of a now dead ape displayed on Animal planets "Chimp Eden."
Although I understand your sympathy, killing a non-Human ape is not murder. Otherwise an ape killing of a Human would be so, too. But, still....understood.
Yes, you are right - murder is between two human beings. Thanks for that. I want to approach this as un-emotional as possible and factual and sometimes it is tough to do. And you are correct as well with the pneumonia cough of Guida who caught a cold and her heart couldn't take it (and Abu who died suddenly).
I just wish this little chimp well, I hope he had a good life if he passed, if he is still alive, I hope he is in the hands of Jane Goodall, which is a much better place for him, even though no chimp should be kept in captivity.
Yep. This is about as bad as they come (yet, still alive). Its teeth were broken out as likely punishment for biting, full-on pneumonia probably picked up from its captors, fed the wrong diet, wracked by internal parasites, and then discarded. I'd be surprised if the animal survived through the next day.
It's easy for Humans to hate chimpanzees. After all, chimps are ugly when full grown, unpredictable, violent, smelly, noisy, and easily fooled into a death trap. Perhaps some humans dislike chimps because they look and behave a little too much like Humans. Keep in mind, though, that chimps are absolutely not Human. They are just animals and thus, cannot be held accountable. If they were, all would have been taken to trial and executed long ago.
This is a very bad case, but he has healthy gums, teeth, and a very healthy grunt. He is showing signs of malnourishment. Chimps begin showing teeth around 3 months and like humans, they grow in un-even, they were not broken out. His eyes have life and his grunt shows no signs of pneumonia. But you are right, he needs to eat the right food.
It looks tasty!!

Poor little chimpanzee! I hope he/she will get to a good place and survive and have a good life.
It really makes me so sad to know cruelty like this is happening.
Thank you all you people who do something to help these animals!
