  • I wonder why Yamaha doesn't present their keyboards more often fresh like this... Well done!

  • does anyone know, what the chords are for the first song?

  • Bloody hell, he's got no hair!

  • hey dats not fair... i own a psr s550.. but i cant play it!! :-(

  • What's better this or a roland juno g?

  • didn;t quite understand the midi download part. you mean you can download midi into the USB and it will plaY?

  • @salistorymaker the new S550 you can record to the USB or you can play from it too and it is between $750 to $999 US Dollars online.

  • love it! I want one lol

  • i want to hear Some MP3 demos of PSR S500...

but to enter i need a password and a username...

  • HE LOOKS CONSTAPATED....

  • the guitar sound is very good.

  • my mate is a bass player and I jam on this kb wi him... not a learner kb, just I cant afford more expensive.... sounds good thru a 300 watt amp haha

  • He has no MIDI ports. Not good for bands and as arranger. For those who play in the band are recommended synthesizers. Arranger is for those who need to pace yourself and tend to be more expensive at least here in Brazil. The Tyros 3 (top arranger) is much more expensive than the Motif XS 8. In short, in my opinion, the PSR S500 is a great keyboard for beginners. Who is already more advanced is good to start pro S700 or S900 if 'you really need an arranger.

  • what do you mean by its not good for bands? you mean that if you play in a band its not good? why are sinythesizers better?

  • The arranger keyboards are usually made in order to provide you with a wide variety of resources for those who play alone because it has rhythms, not only that, but mostly. Since the synthesizer stand out about the tone, that is, all you need in a band, they have no rhythm, although we get some "play" with them legal rsrs (see videos motif xs). You never see an arranger in a band. Bands do not need rhythm =).

  • lol ok...well because i have two keyboards with my band... i have a normal piano keybaord because i mostly need piano soud, and i have the psr s550 too...so that sometime i also use it for different tones (without riythms of course when i play in the band). ok well i'll be te first guy too have an arrenager in a band^^ lol

  • hey! what about the MIDI ports? It seems to have only USB conection. Anybody knows if there are traditional MIDI conectors?

  • I got a psr s 500 but the guitar slide don't work....?why?

  • I am wondering about buying this keyboard. I'm in a band, and if some one got this keyboard would you recomend it to me? For a band as i said..

  • what would you do with it in the band? synths, piano or what?

  • 4:39 very good!

  • i got a s700 but da gutair slides dnt work on dem lol

  • mabey you use the wrong guitar???

  • i played on a s700 an there were the slides...

  • hi, j have one question. does the guitar slides functioning work in psr s700? J didnt noticed. Anyone answer me please.

  • yes it works on psr s700

  • does the guitar slides functioning work in psr s550b?

    thank you

    plz reply

  • I love this keyboard :)

  • I dont know which keyboard to buy =O

  • Yamaha S900.

  • I was looking for S550B and S700, the S900 too, but i dont have money to buy a S900.

  • if you don´t have much money, but you want a good keyboard... by the S550 or the PSR 295. If you got a lot of money by the PSR 700, PSR 900. If you are almost rich buy the tyros 3... ^^

  • Can I use it with batteries?

  • I wouldn't think so since the power adapter it comes with is supplying 16 volt 2.4 amperes.

  • yes you can becouse this have USB

  • Can I use it as a MIDI-keyboard?

  • No, because it dont have a midi port.

  • but it have an usb port, you can hook to your computer, and use as midi keyboard

  • it have midi over usb.

  • @horuscurcino But you can connect to computer via USB.

  • @horuscurcino Play the usb and it really act as midi keyboard for a midi sequencer program.Yamaha gives you midi driver for that keyboard.I use Anvil Studio it really works, USB midi much better than MIDI IN MIDI out for PC s . . .. .

  • @horuscurcino Yes, U can through USB....

  • @horuscurcino who say no usb midi

  • @horuscurcino It can't control other MIDI-driven equipment, but you can definitely control DAW, VST and software with the USB MIDI port. It's just like an USB cable but sends MIDI data that the driver in your desktop or notebook considers as genuine MIDI.

  • @omlette87 You most definitely can and should use it as a MIDI keyboard.

It has a USB port for easy connection to computer, aka USB-MIDI (so you can use it with your favorite software and not need to purchase an adapter). It does not have a MIDI port, but I highly doubt you need one.

  • its a great keyboard :)

  • i have a s-500, but how does the guitarslides @ 4:37 work?

    it isn't working ...

    help me pls ^^

  • ok have it ...

    false settings -.-

  • how did you get it to work? i can't get it either

  • try the dynosteal guitar sound and you'll see it works ;)

it works only with this type of guitar. hit the keys quite powerfully ;)

  • This is one of the most enjoyable keyboard presentation's I ever seen. Martin Harris really get the best out of this instrument.

  • If you are a beginner and want to build your skills this is one of the best keyboards to have.

  • What is best:

    MM6 or the S500?

    I Have this doubt... =|

  • MM6 is half synth - half arranger, S500 is pure arranger, called smaller version of Tyros... MM6 is smaller Motif ;) If you wanna synthesizer capabilities, get MM6. If you wanna pure, good arranger, pick S500.

  • S-500 is NOT the smaller version of the Tyros. The smaller Tyros is called the S-900. The MM6 really isn't a smaller Motif. It's a PSR arranger keyboard with some Motif Flavored sounds, and it barely qualifies as a synth. The "real" smaller Motif would be the MO6/8.

  • ilyen szintim van

  • GOD

  • I've been an owner of an old psr, and i must say yamaha always had good sound quality! But this is amazing how they have made it to put those greats sounds at this psr!

  • I wonder if Martin still plays the Electone as well...!

  • whats the name of the song at 3:51 ????

  • whats the name of the first song?

  • maybe "think" of aretha franklin

  • can psr-s500 play trance and record like MO6??

  • great keyboard for a low price.. just love it..

  • Anyone have any idea what chords are played using the electric piano and the "DX type" FM piano?

  • (sorry about my english)

Good playing Martin, I have one PSR S500 and thing it´s a pretty cool kb. I´m a Yamaha fan

FAQ: When a sequence is running and I try to search another one, the first sequence stops (bad for live performances)

How can I fix this? or is a software mistake?

    Tanks

  • I love the sound from 3:32.

    Is there the song name?

  • Would it be a good replacement for my KN2000 seen the way I play on my Youtube page ?

    ( blues )

  • Hey friend if you have noticed i have started a youtube account on Yamaha keyboards and i would like to upload on my account some Yamaha demonstrations like this video on the psr s500. Plz may i put this video on my account with your permission?

  • Yes! Post many Tyros2 videos too!

    See ya!

  • does is have USB port?

  • Yes, USB to host (midi interface) and USB to device (to connect pendrives to load songs, styles and record them). USB Diskette drivers are aceppted too ;)

  • Wich keybord is better: Yamaha PSR E403 or PSR S500? Please, answer with all your wisdom. Thanks.

  • S500.. It have many many voices, USB function to load styles and midi files by the Storage devices (pendrive), many many styles built-in, new blacklit display and new waverom than E403, a student amateur keyboard.

  • Thanks

  • Wich keybord is better: Yamaha PSR S500 or Korg X50? Please, answer with all your wisdom. Thanks.

  • @horuscurcino this is not a "student" keyboard, this is simply amateur.

  • @felo13579 go with the psr 550b or the psr 550... i use the excellent dx sounds in live performance in a live band... my set up is psr 550, roland xp 80, korg n364

  • good video, good job

  • He was wrong about that...

PSR-E303, all standard voices and some XG voices have different samples according to how hard it is played.

    O.O

  • great vid, but he should play some other sounds too, not only e-pianos :D
