a siamese hold in "solitary confinement" will be unhappy, get depressed and most likely perish because of loneliness!

2 is the absolute minimum, because no human could ever substitute for a cat!

and no responsible breeder will sell a single cat. most insist that you have another cat for his baby to play with.

i own a siamese and an oriental-short-hair cat, too! i grew up having two siamese cats and eversince i can't help but LOVE this race. they are - by far - the most intelligent cats and i am not the only person who says they are more like dogs than other cats!

also, they're great with children! my 18 months old son is hitting, scratching and strangling them sometimes (when we don't look, of course if we see it we interrupt!) - the cats never even thought about scratching him!
