Cute video, but the caption is definitely off. 6 year olds can't pull this throw off against an adult who isn't throwing themselves. He's about as likely to get thrown by picking up a gallon of milk.
Instead of debating whether or not a little girl can throw a grown man, why not praise her instead for studying a martial art in the 1st place. Chances are if she sticks with it she will have good grades, be of strong character and be a positive member of society. And have the ability to kick the crap out of some guy that may deserve it. My daughter started HKD @ age 6, now she's 15 Weighs 110 pds and can hip throw my 225 pd butt with out much effort. Cause she knws how to use what she learned.
@ProWrestlingSwede I have to agree with mrsmiddle here that it is possible for a 6 year old to throw a grown man. But... I've had almost 20 years experience in the martial arts Hapkido, Tae Kwon do, Judo etc..I've studied most ways a person can be thrown. This video is nothing but good acting by the person being thrown, by the way the stance the little girl takes there is no leverage on her part and there is not enough momentum for her to take him over with such force. Nice try.
Hapkido is an awesome art, but I'd never take it from an instructor that taught it to kids because he's not teaching Hapkido. He's probably teaching TKD with some Judo throws and wrist locks thrown in. Hapkido training is hard and rigorous and way too difficult physically for a child to master. Let's be real here, a little girl, no matter how skillful, would never be able to defend against a full grown man.
We started out with Hapkido because it offered the most useful training, especially for children. To be able to defend themselves against a stronger opponent was useful in LA. However, Master Kwon did limit the training for children to things he felt wouldn't interfere with their growth and development.
(just think about it, when you have a belt test every 3 month for example, she must have been startet with ... 3 1/2 Years or something like that!!!!)
You are so right, It's actually not a black belt, It just looks dark in the picture. She is currently a brown belt, so she still has some room to go. But...she did start at 4 after begging Master Kwon for 8 months to let her start! So, she is driven!!
but isn't HapKiDo a little bit hard für a 6 year old girl, i mean here in germany in our dojo the woman are allowed to start at 14 years of age and the boys at 16 :D,

@ProWrestlingSwede Hapkido borrows a lot of throws from Judo.

This is not real :))
This technique so call Ippon Seoi Nage in Judo, a smaller person can throw the bigger if the opponent move forward.

You have obviously never studied the art of Hapkido. She was and still is definitely able to throw a grown man over twice her size.

but isn't HapKiDo a little bit hard für a 6 year old girl, i mean here in germany in our dojo the woman are allowed to start at 14 years of age and the boys at 16 :D,
