Nice one. Michael emailed me that this is an unusual tuning and I tried it. The high E string is tuned down a whole step. The guitar part is so simple, almost hypnotic.
oh my god.. what a great visual.. my grandma had blackberries.... I was in Seattle and she was in Spokane. I went back every summer.. I can't believe I am watching and hearing this.. thank you so much..
wonderful.... it's so low for me to sing but I do sound real good with you in the chorus or is it the bridge.. either way... I am so glad I found you again. truly brightened up my day!!
oh my god.. I can't believe I have finally found this. I lost my cassette.. thats how long ago it was. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what that song was. Hallelujah! I can't believe it!!!
In 1989 I spent a month in Hawaii, and listened to this song many times on my Sony Walkman. I remember swimming laps in a public pool,in a park, in Kailua. I was alone and it began to rain. I felt the rain hit hard on my back as the pool water passed softly below me. I'll always remember that day and this song. Thank you Micheal Tomlinson.
As with other comments below this song is my favorite. The funny thing is, as many times as I've seen MT in concert he never played this song. And, here it is on the 'tube.
So many favorites of MT's. Great find on YouTube. How about "Raining Away" which was the first song I heard on the radio of yours and I was driven to find out who you were! That was more than 20 years ago. The Way We're Going is (as always) a reminder of our connection to others and the world. Love your music! Hope to make another of your intimate concerts without too many more years passing by!
This is my absolute favorite Michael Tomlinson song. It was the first song of his I heard on the radio many years ago. There is something very spiritual and meditative about this song. This song really touches a place deep within me and fills me with hope and serenity and a feeling of connectedness to all of life. Simply brilliant Michael!!
Where can I find a video of your song: "Run Like The River Runs" It's my all time favorite...Myra Dalton
