Having owned your mini for a while, have you gotten used to the center console controls (switches, etc)? I've watched and read a few reviews and people can't seem to give the controls a good word. And how does the Cooper S handle in the snow? just curious b/c i'm kinda debating between two extremes for college (the mini or FJ Cruiser)...
Well we have not had it long enough to see any substantial snow, but any weather conditions it is exposed to it sticks to the road like glue, when it rains we actually try to slip and we really cant get it to slid at all. The car is loads of fun, easy to drive, good on gas, and for going to college, very easy to park. It has pretty good ground clearance for a car in its class. I know a guy that has had two fj's and has loved them, but if the snow is too deep for the MINI I would just skip class
Also, about the center console and switches, I love the style of all the controls, very clean, high quality, and with sturdy fluid motions. They remind me of aircraft switches, with a metal guard rising up in between every switch. The center console, we opted not to get the factory $250 arm rest, in the MINI there is not center console, just an optional arm rest. We are considering getting an armrest off of a MINI website such as Moss MINI. I would recommend the MINI to anyone even considering.
That is the stock leatherette, it is nice material and the seats really hug your body, we are very happy with it. It dose not feel like an imitation leather, just a cool racing seat. I would not spend the $1,500-$2,000 to get leather.

Actually you could prob fit a small one or two small ones, the trunk is like 4or 5 inches deep and like a foot long.
