Next upgrade was normal 486DX4-100, I'd put those 8Mb of RAM there, althogh people were buying first Pentiums that days.

  • well that was slow as shit. but impressive for an operating system this old

  • Wow I totally remember typing "win" to start windows on my dad's computer. I was 2 years old in 1991.

  • thats was fast

  • You are torturing ths PC with such a hard task as using Google :/

BTW - Don't move your mouse that often, it creates interrupts and in case of 33 Turbo boosted MHz it might take signifant CPU time :D

  • That was 9 of the most painful minutes of my life.

  • Slooooooooooooowly!

  • I remember downloading a 10mb video on 28k and I got up and made coffee and had a sandwhich..was about half way and said fuck it. lol

  • internet starts at 2:15

  • Dude... you should be getting over 9000 fps in IE5 given your hardware. Might want to try defragging.

  • @crafty1982 I do miss this! BBS systems in a terminal window! 28.8 Modems. And running that version of windows, he should have had at least a 66mhz Pentium.

  • @lobmo You might be missing it as a part of your childhood, but if you had to got through the pains of surfing the web like that, with NO other alternative, and having to pay a LOT of money for that (since you paid per hours of usage), guess you would change your mind all of a sudden...

  • @BilisNegra I did go through that. I was still using Windows 3.11 and Netscape 1.1 when I was 17. I paid for my own internet and for $35 a month I got something like 100mb of data usage a month at 28.8k.

But the internet was a geeks paradise back then. I remember when MegaDeth was the first band to have a major website. BIANCA (look that one up) was a where you went to chat dirty. And MIRC was where you downloaded Jpegs cause your brand new 75mhz computer wasn't fast enough to run video! LOL

  • OmG is the HDD damaged ?

  • @Baconmaster92 No they all used to sound like that. Old Macs used SCSI hard drives that sounded like a bag of nails.

  • Ah, the good old days where to surf a single page you needed to wait at least two minutes XD !

  • LOL? I wish I actually had 2 megabit internet speed :(

  • it starts up faster then my laptop XD

  • Sweet & no IP Trace Either :) QC

  • I slept for a while IE 5 was loading zzzzZZZ.............

  • i wish this PC was mine the old HDD sounds like music to me even i hop there fits a 10 ram in this PC

  • I still have an old laptop with a 386 CPU, i do believe it is a if I rememer correctly, and it has a 10MB harddisk.

  • wow. I didn't even think a 386 could be mule whipped and tortured into doing anything remotely like this. Even then its slower than a Glacier during an ice age. LOL.

  • yeah but can you watch online porn on it?

  • Забытые иконки пятого эксплорера...

  • Master of Internet said it right: "...and it took only 10 minutes".

  • lol, the music from the windows xp ad... oh, the irony

  • 245 MB?

I think ill only get this laptop to hold one of my favorite porn videos

  • Funny, this is russian version of windows :)

In soviet russia... Aah, this is already written by MJL600000

  • I had a 386 with a 40MB hdd and used dblspace and it went to 70 MB. After that the clicking sounds sounded lighter and it was faster.

  • 22222 SLOW////// DX-33 can run on 50MHz! Overclock it!

    Best regards from Russia

  • @Buhnewald Do you think it's worth overclocking a DX-33? I don't think so... xD

  • I ran to market for ice-cream and its still opening Internet Explorer ...

  • love the sound of old hdd´s working^^

  • @svenakin777

haha reminds me of my old computers

  • @svenakin777 I totally agree, when hard drives weren't as silent as they are today, it was much easier to troubleshoot them and know whether the heads are moving or not. I, for one, would rather hear a hdd clicking about and know it's doing something or not than wonder what the hell is going on inside of it.

  • Hey,

Putting "WIN" will automatic run windows!

NOTICE : type autoexec.bat to edit at end type WIN and then save it.

  • IE5 ran on Windows 3.1?1

  • Wow... IE5. and its successor, IE6, was being released on XP.

  • IE loads slower than the whole OS :) Just like today...

  • Can it run BFBC2? XD

  • back in that time,we were typing the letter, and w8ing a min for it to appear on desktop

  • It works so sloooow...

  • @DmitrySokolowsky What else do u want with 8mb of RAM

  • ыыы, русская версия

  • lol there was intenet on that time?

  • @mmihain there were chat programs already...:)

  • @mmihain not as you know it today, but there was TCP/IP connections, modems have existed since I believe the 1960s, when you dialed your phone into a computer system, put the phone ontop of the modem and the modem talked to the server. lol.

  • SHIT I gotta do an exam in 10 minutes QUICK!! Can I Use your computer? ;x

  • people now who have old vintage computers like windows 95 and 98's and stuff, should keep them because later in the future we will not see anymore of these. So im gonna buy one off ebay to play my old games on it :D:D:D

  • @MJL600000 Very funny....

  • @MJL600000 Too bad it's Ukrainian ;)

  • @MJL600000 Actually, in soviet Russia, Windows 7 beats windows 3.11.

A tarefa deste sistema operacional é basicamente supervisionar e direcionar o trabalho, a operação do computador.
