It's really funny that they didn't catch that little blooper. I'm sure it's probably the crew member holding the big stick with the microphone at the end. There are constantly cameras/microphones/lights that are just outside the camera's field of vision during filming. I'm sure the guys in editing probably didn't catch the man because they were only paying attention to possible equipment being in the way.

it was one of the crew guys, whenever a scene is recorded crew members have to hide behind the doors or doorways, or in this case a trash can, he just did a really bad job of hiding =)

There are a couple of these kinds of things, in bad blood, when Mulder is kicking the chair to make a stake you can see a prop man handing David Duchovny a Stake! And in the episode with the snakes, cant remember the name of it, but you can see a boom mic man in a white shirt and tan pants. The scene where they are walking up to the house.

Stupid technician. I worked on a set with a guy like that who always hid in the frame or close on the edge for some reason. We ended up seeing him in 2 shots.

Sometimes, when you are shooting in dark or messy sets/locations, you don't even notice it until post.

nah, it's definitely one of the crew. It's likely it's a sound guy. you have to get the microphones right into shots. You can see the shot is pretty wide so they wouldn't be able to use a boom.
