  • Why can't these guys just hunt legally? They would still get to feed there famillies and they would not be a threat to the wildlife populations. The rules are made so the animal populations are not affected too much by hunting. If they are just too poor to buy licences, why don't they just find something else to eat?

  • @TheMarcthehunter when they poach, don't they usually poach for animal "Parts" like husks, rhino horns, paws, claws, heads for mounting etc.. etc... that surprisingly still sell for Big Bucks on illegal black market? when will that ever end!!

  • what they are doing is not right

  • realy man i wonder how woud a poacher feel if i do that to him realy guys what they do in not right!! i wish we coud do someting about it :**

  • @adidasgame123321 stop buying animal products which are known to have been acquired from wild animals, discourage others as much as possible to stop such buying. As they say " when the buying stops, the killing can too" . Moreover strict laws to be applied on poachers. No more taking it for granted and letting them loose. Poachers are to be punished instantly with serious punishments which may affect them for their lifetime. Only then poaching will reduce. My view....

  • what the fuck are these poor desperate people supposed to do?? its not like they can just pop over to safeway and pick up some chicken and salad. they have no money and what ever money they do have isnt worth the paper its printed on. if i was in there shoes id kill what ever i could as often as i could to feed my family and then myself. i am wholly unsympathetic to the plight of the animals being hunted.

  • then you sir have not thought about the subject thoroughly enough. The world is overpopulated with people. and indeed quickly becoming underpopulated with rhinos and elephants. if you care at all about the ecosystems of africa and indeed the world which in turn support people you will logically disagree with poaching. not only that animals being poached for ivory are majestic and highly intelligent creatures. killing them is cruel.

  • i disagree with poaching for monetary profit. but when it comes to hunting to feed your children then its the way it is. i dont agree with killing a rhino for its horn or an elephant for its tusks as you cant eat that and they usually leave the carcass to rot, and that is not cool at all.

  • ta2joe13, what if all animals are hunted and nothing left to feed yourself and your children, will you huntdown the fellow people and feed on them? Think twice before making a statement. Animals cannot reproduce as fast as you hunt them down. At one stage, all animals will be gone. What happens to the eco system? Man cannot live alone in this planet. If so, then life will be miserable for human. Its cruel to kill an animal and more cruel is to kill them jus for their horns and ivory.

  • @rangy8888 why you say killing an animal is cruel? isn't that a little hypocrite when you eat meat every day? what do YOU feed on? are you ignorant of the fact that man has been hunting animals for over thousands of years? I do believe that these rhino's, elephants, lions and so on shouldn't be shot. and freethinkingjim is right, men have just outnumbered the animals.

  • @dunno219 thanks for your response. FYI, I am a vegan. But what does it matter about eating meet and that stuff. What i say is against poaching animals like elephants and rhinos and other wild animals which are less in number and rapidly disappearing. Hunting for feeding, or fun or money whatever it is, its gonna take away a precious life of a wild animal which cannot be replaced by man himself. Man has been hunting for 1000s of years since they evolved, but then the wildlife was in abundant.

  • @rangy8888 yeah guess you're right :)

  • fuck niggers

  • <3 the rangers in africa stopping all the poaching

  • after watching Lion males kill cubs, i'm not very sympathetic if poaches kill some.

  • youre an idiot, that is nature. with the invention of money and such things mans greed transcends a need to breed and earn money. the lions kill each other, but if we kill them too the numbers may dwindle too low and ecosystems may fail.

  • stop wearing skin fashion ,corruption....

    hunt 4 food nothing wrong......

  • its so sad because Africa is a beautiful continent but its filled with so much corruption.

  • Haha not as corrupt as the west. It makes me wonder people like David Beckham etc, what they do with the money they have. Why dont they help something towards helping the Earth? Thery are just greedy liars it seems.

  • Yeah i can see that the west is corrucpt however there isnt a mass genocide here my friend.

  • at least not in this decade, lest we forget Serbia and the Nazis? They weren't from Africa or a thirdp-world country.

  • no kidding i ask myself that all the time

  • i want to donate...

  • I went to Maasai Mara in September and I shall soon be there again: in January. It is a wonderful place and I shall do all I can to protect it.

  • poachers such balls and should be put in there own traps

  • its not there fault they need to eat

  • Like all problems, they have their roots in, simply too many mouths to feed, too few resources for peoples needs. As an African I ask how come, there are no programs that educate people to understand that a species (ie humans cannot breed endlessly!)When we do systems collapse and people become even more more desperate Case closed!

  • humans are designed for global dominance. they will keep breeding until they find a way to make the world support them.

  • the reserve needs pay pal :D

  • yes hunting wildlife animals illegally is wrong, however you can not tell the people who are trying to survive today, to think about the future of these animals.

We would have to create enough jobs for the people to sustain themselves to really stop the poachers. Do you think they are such terrible people that enjoy killing these animals? they just want to feed their family and have no other ways to do it.

  • I agree.

  • shoot the poachers

  • in their situation, you would poach too. Trust me, when U barely have enough food to feed your family...an exotic animal for a few thousand foreign currency would be more than enough to get you to poach.

  • hopefully BARack can help end this! watch EARTHLINGS!

  • Now now...lets not get ahead of ourselves, Barak has enough problems HERE in the US, lol

    Hes not GOD.

  • change may come and don't go into racial >,>

  • A key to letting this reserve prosper is getting the locals more interested in protecting also. BTW any link to his blog?

  • ide LOVE to go there! maybe in the future i can go on a vacation to those places. *crosses fingers*

  • its a vicious cycle, whos right, n whos wrong? the poachers feeding the fam?

  • Link to blog?

  • I agree with Tempfix... It would have been a good idea if they'd attached a link to that blog.

  • i hope they get enough money to continue working and saving animals

  • they should have included a link to his blog. I would love to read it

  • There is science that tweeks the genes of things like rice and wheat, making them fortified and more wholesome for people who are very poor and whose main diet would consist of them.

However, there are factions of people who do not want geneticly modified food to even be leagle, and thwart the efforts of the orginizations who could help get this science available those who need it.

    I think.

  • It's kind of like the stem cell arguments we have in America. A small bit of science and effort and we may be able to fix some of the things that can make life miserable. But that first step, the modified food or the use of an embryo, is more than many of us can take.

  • In cases like these, I really do blame the government for the actions of the poacher. That whole continant should not be in the chaotic state that it's in. They need law.

  • I was in Kenya a few months ago it's Beautiful!=)

  • Genocide in Congo and Sudan, civil war all along the eastern part of the continent and we're still worried about the poor animals?

  • How tragic the locals must envy the poor animals. Nobody looks out for the people who also need to eat.

    What a F*****g mess!!!

  • How tragic is it that animals are smart enough to find food while those idiots are too dumb to find food or go to where the food is?

A giraffe is smarter than an African!

  • That's kinda racist, first off.

And I'm not defending the poachers, but in places like that, it can be hard to get by. You have to eat to live, no matter where your home is.

  • Why do poor people have so many kids?

  • Maybe because most poor people don't have access (or only minimal access) to health care clinics, doctors, and birth control methods. I'm sure it's a lot more difficult for poor people in certain areas of Africa too.

  • Last comment was directed to rodman332.

  • Also rodman it could be since, with the lack of employment people could become desperate and use childeren for child laborer or even worse sell them as slaves to make some cash

  • @rodman332 poor people have so many kids because the dont haves contraception it makes part of their culture and because a child can be a source of income for the parents because they can make them work or beg !

  • @rodman332 if you look at it from an evolutionary or survival perspective more offspring provide for better chance of survival of the family

  • @rodman332 and then maybe these poachers are lying

  • @rodman332 ignorance and lack of education is reason people have so many kids they can't afford. the world is over-populated having too many babies even in the USA.

  • guy trips at 4:22

  • lol

  • all the rich ppl of the world should start donating money if i had an extra 1 mil i'd donate it lol

  • Everyone who has a heart would do so.

  • stupid poachers i hope they die of aids!!,and if their families need food they can go get something thats not protected or endangered they can eat vegatables or rice or something.

  • Hum, quite an unthoughtful comment... Yes; there must be a stop but that's a very easy thing to say but so much harder to actually carry out.

Oh, there are so many things to say about this...

  • where does he blog?? I want a link !!!

  • me too! y the heck would someone give u a thumb down?? loool stupid

  • People need help in many lands we are all humans!

  • if you don't have children noone will support you when you get old and can't work since there is no working pension system.

  • The life expectancy is below 55 years in much of Africa (about 50 in Tanzania). You're not very likely to live long enough to need a pension system.

  • Omg i thaught i was gona be first.. also hunting animals for a laugh is stupid.. hunt chickens coz they taste nice

  • That's a really ignorant comment

  • lol

  • Ok. First, it's spelled "herd," not "heard." Second, a group of monkey is called a mission or a tribe, not a herd. Read a fucking book, then you won't have an excuse for being ignorant or maybe it's too late.

  • Wow, that is really ignorant.

But what more could you expect of such a lowly human being.

    Learn to spell JeRse114.

  • I want to know how to find his blog dam it! Natinonal Geographic ug!

  • "He has 6 kids to support."

Idiot, getting a vasectomy is a lot smarter!

  • freedomwarrior43: He is not really an idiot. Think about it, when you have a predominantly agricultural (or impoverished) society, like they do in Africa, they are much more likely to have many children. It was the same when America was predominantly an agricultural (and impoverished) society; America also had famliies with tons of children, that is until America industrialized. And slowly, but surely, the population growth rate dropped dramatically. Look at Japan and Switzerland or many of...

  • ...the other industrialized or industrializing nations, their population growth rates are dropping dramatically (this includes China) w/ the exception of India, of course, whose population is still increasing because of the still high poverty rate. Population growth can be controlled with education and industrialization. Africa is barely beginning to do so since it has been only about 38 years since imperialism has ceased, it does take time. Not to mention, the low availablility of health care..

  • ...but that is another story directly linked. Anyways, hope I gave you some insight. Bye :)

  • wuts his website?!

  • ni**er is racist word ,you fool

  • Nobody happens to know the man's blog web address would they?

  • i wish i could go there...

  • dumasses shoudnt hav to many kids....

  • In the end it's ecological footprint that matters most. Americans with their 2.1 kids use more resources probably than that guy & his 6 kids. The Americans each have a car for each kid & new clothes every month etc. The African has a hut, no electricity etc. Don't get me wrong, nowdays whenever I see anyone with more than 2 kids I get a little peeved, whether they are in Africa, the US... wherever. We all need to cut back. I'm only having 1 child, if that.

  • IMO having more than one child isn't a problem if you teach them to be energy conscience. As well, cooking communal meals is more energy efficient than cooking six different meals at six different kitchens. I'm the oldest of four children, my family recycles four times as much as we throw away (not just blue boxing but donating old clothes, and composting for our garden). Having less people isn't the problem, it's making sure we aren't wasting, and sharing what we got.

  • wow that was great.

  • Nice vid.

  • what?

  • there was no noah. and there is no god.

  • hahahaha

  • I love the atheist activity on the internet.

Living in a Mormon state is really disheartening.
