I wonder how people would react if they tried REAL AMERICAN food. Main lobster, Elk Medallions in Red Wine, New England Clam Chowder, Fajitas, Shrimp Etouffee, Duck Creole, Sauteed Morels? I think people don't actually know what American food is. they see the McDonald's down the street and think that that is all there is to it.
@poosaypirate England? Do all English speaking people sound the same to you? How does someone become offended by such an innocuous video? And stop flirting with her.
USUALLY ITS THE BRITS WHO BELIEVE THEY HAVE "CULTURE" which is what inspired them to invade entire continents and destroy the inhabitants.,
an Australian complain about Americans having no culture is the biggest joke on the face of the earth, we're all impressed in USA that you can open a beer bottle with your teeth. MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS
@ellamorton also, ive been to uk and the food is horrid there starting with the imitation fake scrambled eggs that come from a paper carton and people put in a coffee machine some how. BARF!
@poosaypirate Actually, the Brits very much like to make fun of their own (lack of) cuisine. I've been there too and I loved it. English Breakfast, Sunday Lunch, meat pies, I love 'em.
Now, I haven't been to America (yet!), but when I do, I intent to enjoy the local food too. Pop-tarts and canned 'cheese' may be inedible, but I love a good burger.
@poosaypirate Sir, I shall inform you of the Bossche Bol and the Limburgse vlaai. Also, 'bitterballen' are tons of fun. They are essentially balls of meat in breadcrumbs, and when you present them to a foreigner, you can say "would you like to put my Dutch balls in your mouth?"
This is not funny at all. Instead of wasting the time to make this garbage, why not make a video that really teaches people how to make American cuisine? I have been living in the US for quite some time, some foods are quite good. Gumbo or southern style stews are wonderful.
@ellamorton There are many cooking videos on youtube. They are all great examples. Go to wiki, look up American cuisine. Choose the dishes that you like. Type these names of the dishes that you like in youtube search box. I promise you that you'll find someone that has made a great video showing you how to make that dish.
Just do something meaningful instead of making garbage. I am impressed by Korean cooking videos by a Korean lady. The media even did a report on her.
@ellamorton I hope I did not sound too harsh in my previous comments. It's just the way that I talk sometimes. Just don't make fun of the food when you can't cook very well.
People please can you tall me food that is american in a way it is populat there or was popular and something everybody ate, but smth that is not this half food - there must be smth like cooking in it, prepacked is not making it for me , I mean the food like Baked Alaska, pretty please!
Wow...that's alot of junk food. But oddly, it looks really good. I love your videos, Ella! Yeah, I'm from America, course we don't eat like at all the time...however, some households....
How nutritious! Eating all the colors of the rainbow, plus I think it's worth pointing out that no wolly mammoths had to be slaughtered for this dish... it's practically cruelty free.
5 whole minutes! This American won't eat anything that takes more than 30 seconds in the microwave! I do like the tip about not having to toast the pop-tarts. Now I can sleep in just a bit longer.
Haha! This reminds me of my Canadian friend and I always poking fun at one another! She lives in an igloo and eats syrup all day! Ella, will you ever show us your pet kangaroo in a video? :D

Snobby bitch thinks that all we eat in America is processed crap. Some of the finest cuisine in the world was created in this country. But hey, everybody hates Americans right. So why not make it look like we all have the food sense of a kindergartner?
@ellamorton Have you tried chickenfried steak with mashed potatos and fried okra? That's the best american meal around, and it's also a law, you can't ever move to Texas without trying it at least once in your life.
@fishguru73 "snobby bitch". now, on my list of "what i think about americans" i can add, after "food sense of a kindergartner", "awfully rude". what next? :)
@fishguru73 sorry to say but you're not saving me from any suicide bombers :) only being nosy and meddling with other countries political situation, messing the world's economy and finally being asses on the internet. cheers
FYI-Vitamin D does not come from the sun, but rather as a reaction to a cholesterol in the outer layers of the epidermis being exposed to ultra-violet light waves. Fun, huh? =D
btw - I can't believe you actually ate that. And, you made it look so elegant, too! 100 points for you - good toward a brand new used bookshelf!
Ella, I must complement you on your use of the gourmand's nomenclature of Twizzler flavors. Of course the true Blue Blooded American uses the Twizzler color as the flavor. Your addition of one more "purple" is very proper. Many people suffer from the over-correctionists syndrome of calling a purple Twizzler "grape". Cheers.
Well that certainly had the desired response from me! All that processed food gave me a sense of revulsion beyond what I've felt for some time. Nice touch with the Vitamin D comment, educational and humorous!
Ella, your naivete concerning classic American Nouveau Cuisine is astounding. You'll find the preferred cheese spread is "Cheez Whiz." Only lazy modernists use "Easy Cheese."
I'm something of a culinary artist myself, and i think that if you were to dice the twizzlers and swap out the easy cheese for alternating layers of nutella and marshmallow fluff, you would find you have an even tastier and more manageable snack to enjoy.
theres not much that dosent taste better w/ easy cheese on it; still you should qualify for some kind of award for bravery for actually putting that in your mouth!
Sorry man -- I'm using other people's equipment, resources and time to shoot these episodes, and since no-one's getting paid, they need to get promotional pre-roll.
i think this is my favorite elegant guide so far. i used to eat so much easy cheese, every time you put on a layer i cringed. and major kudos for taking a bite. the look on your face was amazing, and then you just kept on going. well done.
I'm pretty sure Pop Tarts are banned in Australia due to being unhealthy. When I was in Melbourne last December, I couldn't find them in the stores (until I went to the USA foods store). Once I shared them with my friend that I was staying with, she became amazed by how delicious they were... then she spit it out of her mouth when she read the nutritional facts.
