about the diesel smoke...thats just unburnt fuel burning in you exhaust pipe. usually caused by big fricken injectors and lowered compression ratios (for more boost/ power ect). it just means your diesel isn't running efficently. but to get the high power your going to have to do it. and it does look pretty bad ass

I'm not into smoke that much guys...sorry. I have plenty of power with only a tiny skiff of black from my cummins at full boost (plus a little more black on the low end to spool the turbo).

Yeah but your truck probably isn't making nearly as much power as this. When you get past a certain point in the hp range it is really difficult to control smoke.

For sure! I have only 1/3 of the power. It is definitely a balance act to acheive high hp. Add more fuel... clean it up, add more clean it up, and so on and so forth. I'm just saying that my preference is to sacrifice a little power to keep the exhaust a little cleaner. Definitley great videos by the way (five stars)!

@tankman720 for sure man. if you build your truck right you can make 1000 hp with little to no smoke. it's not as easy as just pumping tons of fuel in and spooling a set of compounds but i think it's a lot more incredible to see a perfectly tuned truck turning 600+ hp with little to no haze. it's especially impressive when people do it on fuel only. but nitrous sure helps clear up excess fuel.

@brettkartracer thats because if you add bigger injectors it burns more fuel along with some that isnt and turns into soot when the turbo spools it provides more air to burn the extra fuel more fuel also results in lower egts

i have a friend with a 12v lifted on 38s 7in stack chip intake 90hp injectors and a aoura 3000 turbo that makes 60lb of boost and still throughs black smoke but dosnt spool unless you get of in cruising it dosnt spool till 3rd gear

Impressive! In germany you would not be allowed to drive a car what produces that amount of smoke. The style of tuning is also completeley different over here. We prefer cars with less weight, size and less volumend engines. Of course, everyone over here would like to have 4.0 engine or even more volume, but no one can afford it. Because of car tax and gasoline tax.

dude no they dont, diesel engines are used in underground mines because al they produce is soot, if they did release chemicals mine workers would be dead, and diesel is comparable to kerosene, they still make kerosene heaters for people to use in their homes, and their homes are usually sealed up, if diesel released chemicals dont you think theyd be dead too?

Actually man, in underground mines we have air shafts and a ginormous fan that circulates fresh air in and out of the mine. We put up curtains in the mine to help it get all the way to the part we are mining in and back. But yeah, diesel runs cleaner than almost anything and a lot of the exhaust is soot.

no it does not, the only diesel that uses that is the 7.3 powerstroke. it uses high pressure oil to overcome the plunger in the injector and compress the fuel in to the cyclender. the duramax uses whats called piezo electric injectors.

awesome!! i saw a truck on diesel power magazine that has 1200 on fuel and turbo only.... which is awesome. thanks for the update, and when somebody does something new let know. I like all diesels and i think cummins makes a good engine, but someone has to put their reign to an end. I think that chevy can do it with the duramax, i do own a ford with a 7.3(idi w/turbo), but i don't think that the ford diesels will amount. The best diesel ever put in a ford was the 7.3(heads don't flow though).

You don't know much about diesels do ya, yes the whole motor is fully rebuilt. I don't think much in it is still stock. The allison was fully built by eric merchant along with the motor. Your way off on the electronics, EFI live is the only electronics powering this truck. bully dog and edge would cower in the tuning cababilities of EFI live.

Runnin crower rods and pistons from socal, cnc heads w/ custom built cam, dual cps, Exergy Engineering injectors. For the turbos they are the Maximized performance compounds with MD headersr and banks technicooler. Fully built trans along with billet input and output shafts built by Eric Merchant. And for tuning, EFI LIVE ALL THE WAY. Bulldoy or edge wouldnt come close to trying to distrube fuel
