How I got better at putting expression into my signing was to not talk while I signed and make myself express the emotions on my face.. practiced for a long time. Practice makes perfect :)

That phrase "somewhere we can be" is very tricky. For the verb "be" you can use the flat handshape, thumb out, palm up, slightly bent at bottom knuckles. Then sign "2" with the left hand (to show two people, a couple, palm outward) then you use the sign "be" by a movement that goes from up to down and you "point" at the couple with the back of the right-hand fingers as you make the downward movement.

ASL doesn't use the verb 'BE' so just skip it all together and use a classifier.

Actually this is more of a Pidin Sign, which is ASL in English word order, if she were using true SEE, it would be word for word sign translation from English.
