  • OMG how do you get out of this when people do this. I can't get out at all. Some wrestlers are so good at this transition it seems impossible to escape. They just try to keep the position and not submit as well so that makes it even harder to get out.

  • is the top 69 postion a stronger position then side mount?

  • I would say no but it depends on what your strengths are. You have more attack options from side control but the North South is a GOOD pin and transition position.

  • Good! Отлично!

  • Submissions from Russia! Самбо!

  • D'arce from side control maneuvers to north south, transfer to armbar, possible alligator roll if your oppennent attempts to switch or trys to get better postion which ever it may be north south is usaully to establish control before attempting a multitued of submissions if your oponnent attempts an over comitted kamara on you while you're at top side mount you can sprawl over to north south and transfer over to an armbar for example as seem in the match up of matt hughes vs GSP #1

    or what ever

  • THE MONSON F%$KING CHOKE!!!!! its awesome dude you should learn it.

  • Wats the monson choke dude!

  • arm triangle choke from north south

  • Wats that, iv never heard of that before :P

  • its a north south choke with your forearm behind his head and bicep in his throat and your other hand making a fist pushing in his neck i think, or at least that's a choke from north south. Your bicep and forearm act as a vice or scissor cutting off one carotid artery and your fist cuts off the other carotid artery.

  • ummm head arm triangle maybe.... derrrr

  • You guys are the best!

    5 shuriken stars rating!

  • Some more moves that can be applied from the north/south position would be awesome.

  • thank you for yours videos can you plz post more basic moves like this

    thank you agian

  • I think is very important that your belly should be smashing them once you get to N/S. When up on your toes with your hips off ground, you are very susceptible to various versions of N/S escape (e.g. pendulum, bench up and spin).

I agree that focusing your weight on the person is important, but just like in cross-side, can be done without creating space between your hips and the floor.

In Brazil they call the first version of cross-side you show "Cent Kilos" or 100 Kilos. add to tags

  • 'cien' kilos... its portugese... you are correct in your technique

    for sure!! WORD UP!!

  • 100 kilo position yep! Why (for those who don't know) because you should feel like 100 kilos (very heavy) when in that control position.

  • Hey can you guys show a close side armbar from side. I've been working on it but I'm not sure its as technical as it could be. thanks alot great job guys

  • Damn phonetics... I always had trouble with that. 'Cien' is what I meant by 'cent'... I am just bumpkin from Indiana. I need to take some classes before I go to Brazil and offend someone!

  • laugh...or Easern Canada Tsledd! What's in a name. Royce Gracie often says "the move that you do" to expalin about 1000 different moves in jiu jitsu ;-)

  • very good video

  • Very good explanation
