  • im listening to the end of seperator, on side 4, and it reminded of the conspiracy theories on this channel. those were exciting times...

  • i hope to see a release of "walk down the staircase"

  • you own tons of god music, i can see in the back

  • Radiohead is full of suprises.

  • You are right TWO more songs

    !!

    Supercollider / The Butcher !!

    RAWR

  • Well, part 2 rumors have been officially shut down by Ed.

  • @M3rcyl355Gam3r For about the last year it has been Hail To The Thief, but it changes from time to time. What about you?

  • @MeToSpeak I know you weren't talking to me, but still... my favorite is HTTT as well. I also love Pablo Honey - yes! - and OK. Can't stand Kid A and Amnesiac, except their lead singles.

  • @MoonchildMindaugas2 HTTT has some great stuff on there. I understand your points made on Kid A and Amnesiac, though I really enjoy these 2 albums more than I did 3-4 years ago. I know some people find these albums hard to listen to, and there are some that these are their fav albums. Pablo Honey may not be considered their best album, but there are some great songs on there I think.

  • @MeToSpeak I'm actually supposed to like Kid A and Amnesiac, because I like those weird records as much as rock'n'roll ones... but I just like it a little bit more dynamic :) Take Pink Floyd's A Saucerful Of Secrets, my most favorite album of all time, - it's got space rock (the title track, Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun), it's got psychedelia (Let There Be More Light, Remember A Day, See-Saw, Jugband Blues), and just plain rock (Corporal Clegg). But somehow they all blend nicely.

  • I sincerely hope there will be a "Part 2" of this album...

This album ended before it got to the good music.

  • NO DIRECTION HOME IN THE BACKGROUND :L NICE...

  • @Zektic thanks!

  • My TKOL download link didnt have a number on it. That being said, this wouldnt be the first time Radiohead did this. Remember Amnesiac?

  • March 19th. Next full moon. 3 lunar periods until the shipping of Newspaper version.

    March 19thMarch 19thMarch 19thMarch 19thMarch 19thMarch 19thMarch 19th

  • Check out deadair space!! Radiohead posted a comment about chieftan mews today

  • To correct you, a 10 inch record can only hold about 2 songs per side.

    So it's just enough space.

Make sure you do your research.

  • @sinkingship101

No he's right. A 10" can hold approximately 20-25 minutes on each side depending on the speed. So there's roughly 40 minutes a record.

  • @Outrjs I was reading up on this and saw that it is possible to hold up to 59 minutes total on a 10". I am no expert on this by any means. Also 2 songs on 1 side of a vinyl is kind of annoying because you have to change/ flip it every 2 songs..

  • @MeToSpeak

Thank you for the comment. I'm just so excited that Radiohead has come around again. I am truly looking forward to hearing of 3-4 more records if all possible. You have an awesome day man.

  • I think another thing that is missing on your site is that we alread know of new material. The 2-track 12 Vinyl that can be won by lucky Mp3 downloaders? This is proper proof of more material since before the album was released, AND since there are no single is most likely definitely new material (unless radiohead feel like giving you 2 songs from an album you already have.).

  • @agdgdgwngo It could just be These Are My Twisted Words and Harry Patch, both of which where released as downloads, but never got physical releases.

  • RADIOHEAD just released King of Limbs(IN Rainbows) Version!!!

    what an amazing marketing technique!

  • @jemgiggles5 What? That's BS

  • If you get the large album picture which is easily found on google images and zoom into the bottom right corner, you can quite clearly make out some form of book or magazine. Possibly a clue? It definitely bears no resemblance the a Queen from a pack of cards, but you CAN easily make out what looks like a newspaper

  • @agdgdgwngo I have a few pictures of it on my website. What program did you use to look at it close up with.

  • @MeToSpeak just the Windows 7 default image viewer, just scroll in really close and you should make it out. The Queen of Heart theory would make more sense but it looks so much like a newspaper to me.

  • @agdgdgwngo does it look different than the ones I already have posted on my site?

  • @MeToSpeak Not its exactly the same image. Im pretty sure if you look at it the right way you'll see the newspaper. You can see what looks like a headline and a picture. There are also several face like objects scattered around the picture, but it could be me going mental, or just anomalies in the picture. My advie is to just get the picture in a massive 1500x 1500 size and zoom in so the red "hand" fills the screen pretty much fills the screen. it should be just underneath the finger.

  • @agdgdgwngo OK, I will here after a while and then I will try and upload it

  • The original release of "In Rainbows" may have only been 42 minutes but they then released an extra disk with close to 27 more minutes. So TKOL2 seems very plausible.

  • Ed posted "It's a Full Moon" at their website, can that mean that TKOL2 will be released 19th of March? A full moon is visible in England at this point. It would also be in line with TKOL1 that was supposed to be released on 19th of February. So, release date on the 18th or 19th next month is my bet.

  • for people who downloaded the WAV file, is that still called TKOF1?

  • Official Facebook page for The King of Limbs Part 2!

Search 'The King of Limbs Part 2' on Facebook to find it.

  • go to the radiohead track order section of the site, after member index, type the number 2, it will reload with that number in the address bar, type the number 3 instead, and the page will reload to a white screen saying "BYE"

  • i dont think theres more, maybe a few live tracks or remixes, but no new songs

  • @NOSFERATUalu This rumors are huge now, if this was all fake radiohead would already had said there was no more, but there is no radiohead interview since they releazed the album, and there has been no other post, weird...

  • In Rainbows had 2 discs making it quite long... also Feral and BANGERs & mash, Match up rhythmically second to second...

  • they also said that they were looking at a new way to release the album after how creatively they released in rainbows, i too am certain there will be more parts.

  • @shawry41 did you see my website? It is dedicated to the subject

  • go to the order tracking page on DAS and after it says memberindex in the bar up top put a 2 after it so it's memberindex2.php it will return to the same page. now instead put a 3 after memberindex so it's memberindex3.php - it says BYE. Try it.

  • @KyostiG OMG.....OMG...

    OMG...

  • They said it would be the "world's first newspaper album," what do dat mean?

  • I think we really want to see a part two because we secretly think this album is underwhelming but as loyal RH fans, cannot bring ourselves to admit it.

  • The King Of Limbs consists of 14 letters, so I think there will be 6 more songs to come soon. Radiohead and Thom have used that type of model before for number of tracks.

  • @MeToSpeak wow!!! 99.9999999999%?? I want you to be so right. how are you so confident about a 2nd and possibly 4 parts of tkol? did you find out more stuff other than what you said on your video here?

  • @antgun007 yeah I put it in my blog, the link is on my channel or it is shown in a video annotation for this video

  • just wanted to point out, the order info actually says" TKOL1-160072094" so its possible the 1 is just part of the serial number that goes with it. though im all for radiohead putting more quality stuff out (not that TKOL isnt enough to keep me happy as is)

  • @FatSmurf222 or it means this album is part of a 160072094 part album, it would be just like radiohead to do that, yeah, thats definitely it.

  • @FatSmurf222 the long numbers the order tracking number, everyones is different, tkol1 is the name

  • WoW

  • TKOL2 COMING SOONS! yeah

  • @JuanY29 Yeah, I am 99.9999999999% sure there WILL be more, and maybe even up to 4 parts!

  • IF there is a part two, it might be released on March 19. In Ed's post, he said "It's Friday... It's almost the weekend...It's a full moon...." March 19 is a saturday which is the weekend and it's when the next full moon is. so maybe thats it

  • have you considered the possibility that the first release was just the B-sides. not that i think it is a bad album but i've had questions since it is only 8 songs. it reminds me of a fattened up In Rainbows disc 2. but to me after 4 years i expected a little more

  • absolutely agree,

when a band records, they usually kick out between 15 - 79 songs, with the ultimate goal of crafting a 10 - 13 song release.

though part 2 (possibly part 3) is the question now...

what i am MORE than anything interested in knowing more about / listening to one day... is the other songs that might have been kicked around in the mid time of 2009 when These Are My Twisted Words was released.

those are songs i want to sink my soul into.

  • Yawn, what a bunch of hopeful ASSumptions and outright incorrect reasoning.

  • TKOL1 is fine with me, keep the other songs for a later time haha!!

  • "None of us want to go into that creative hoo-ha of a long-play record again. Not straight off. I mean, it's just become a real drag. It worked with In Rainbows because we had a real fixed idea about where we were going. But we've all said that we can’t possibly dive into that again. It’ll kill us."

    Phil Selway.

    Everyone chill.

  • @vstedman well, thom said that, and he said that a year and a half ago when they were just releasing individual tracks (these are my twisted words, harry patch, etc.) and doing away with the idea of albums for the time being - and since they have clearly gone back to releasing full length albums this quote does not apply

  • @FatSmurf222 there are some interesting theories on this I am going to try and post on my blog tonight if I can.

  • @FatSmurf222 Not sure on why I wrote Phil, meant to write Thom...

I think you misinterpreted what I was saying. I think that the above comment does apply because King of Limbs isn't a "Long-play record". I think that people saying there will be a Pt2 and Pt3 are just not entirely satisfied, and overly optimistic.

My understanding is that this a standalone album.

I would be happy to be proven wrong. But I don't think that they are pulling off some massive chain of linked albums.

  • MeToSpeak: Man, I'm as big of a Radiohead fan as anyone, but you need to chill the hell out with this effort you're making here. Any real Radiohead fan realizes all of these points you're making, and you're self-promotion of these videos on blogs and threads around the internet is, frankly, annoying and sad. Lets just wait and see what Radiohead has in store -- we don't need the play-by-play from you.

  • Why should I thumbs up your video for TKOL2, as though that will actually affect Radiohead's decison (which has already been made, and there won't be a part 2)?

People need to stop being Youtube attention whores, God damn.

  • I'm digging TKoL so far. Comparing Radiohead albums is pointless to me... I love them all. The album as a whole is wonderful... I think my/our generation is too fixated on singles to truly appreciate a record as an entity. That being said, my only complaint is that it's on the short side, and a part two could make my year.

  • You guys realize the package has two 10" records and not two 12" records? For how short the album is, two 10" vinyls is what fits. I still think there might be more material but not a whole other album. This may have been mentioned already but I didn't read through the comments.

  • @BriFlores123 I may have misinterpreted it 'cause English is not my mother tongue, but this is what's on the website: "One lucky owner of the digital version of The King Of Limbs, purchased from this website, will receive a signed 2 track 12" vinyl." A 2 track 12" vinyl, what does that mean, exactly?

  • @greenlike It's something different from the album itself. The album itself comes on two 10" vinyls. That signed 12" vinyl is something different and apparently one person wins one. I am guessing the 2 track 12" will either have 2 songs from the album or 1 song from the album and a b-side. Hope that helps and answered your question.

  • part 2 or not we are definitely getting some more tracks like with in rainbows ( bonus disc)

  • Anyone else find that Separator really pulls you back into Wierd Fishes/Arpeggi?

  • @PogoSprings yes!

  • You can't discount the possibility that Thom is trying to have some fun with music reviews, by staggering the full album release. This album certainly does not feel completed. That's probably because it's not. At the end of the album Thom is urging everyone to wake up from the dream. So he has poetically left us all hanging, in a dream state, waiting to wake us all up together. We hope.

  • @markyclizark

    how do you now?

have they given any interview? ._.

  • If I were to release a second part to the album I would think it make most sense if you allowed the value of the additional songs be expressed by witholding the part 2 until after the release of the vinyl for sales purposes and to build anticipation. Almost like a whole second album coming out in short order. One would think Present Tense would be on this album in some form. The second half of the album probably would be a very nice b-side composition. With the remainder of tracks awaited.

  • Thom said no!

  • @markyclizark When did he say no?

  • The album is fantastic, and I can almost guarantee that there's no part 2.

  • bigfoot, what i think we are saying is far from the album being disappointing. if anything, i bet we are all eagerly awaiting for more.

  • me too man

  • WHY would it have to be announced so soon that there is a part 2? It doesn't really make much sense to release two albums in the same week or even the same month...Maybe a part 2 this summer, but I doubt it would be sooner than that, even if a TKOL2 exists...

  • WHY would it have to be announced so soon that there is a part 2? It doesn't really make much sense to release two albums in the same week...Maybe a part 2 this summer, but I doubt it would be sooner than that, even if a TKOL2 exists...

  • Are we acknowledging, by saying "there must be more to this" that the album is a little disappointing? I am.

  • lol

  • oh, and by the way... all you wannabe critics who hate this album... you all can suck my ten inch soft donkey cock. this album is brilliant, although so different than anything else... every album they make is original.

  • dude, im thinking the same exact thing.. why would radiohead keep this so hush if they werent up to something?! plus songs like Super Collider werent included, which I know is a sure hit!!!

  • hoping they have big boots on the new one...

  • "Why would they release a double vinyl album for 8 songs or 38 minutes worth of music."

That's why they will be 10" inch records which hold about 4 songs each.

  • @InsaneBugs 10" vinyls can old up to 4 songs per side though

  • @zlylez Not usually.

  • @InsaneBugs Apart from what zlylez said, there's also the fact that the autographed 12" version of the album which will go to only one lucky person, is a 2 track 12" vinyl.

  • I dunno, I mean, they're gonna make it available as a cd at the end of march...

  • Part 2 is too obvious. I reckon their will be a Part 3 as well!

  • @JCVDbaby

    You could be right.

It was released on a full moon.

There are two more full moons before the physical release.

  • @sinkingship101

Ah. Good call. The thing is tracks 1-4 sound and feel different from 5-8. Could Radiohead have tricked us into not realising we already have parts 1 & 2 and that parts 3 & 4 are on the way?

  • i actually dont really want part 2...its great how it is...right now its my 4th fav rdiohead album...but then again more songs from RH is never bad

  • I'm now pretty doubtful of a part 2. I think the "separator" lyrics thing is just a typically ironic album closer. Frankly after a 3rd listen getting really deep into the music, this one seems to be more about depth than breadth. It feels more musically and conceptually cohesive than anything since Kid A. Sometimes less is more.

  • I really do hope the rumors are true... I hope there's 8 new songs in a completely different vibe than the first half. I loved it, but it fell short of what i was expecting.

  • "If you think this is over, you are wrong".... lyrics on separator .

    hmmmm fingers are massively crossed!

  • @robfreer You know what has just crossed my mind? They may not do it as full album at all, - they'd been carrying this idea of multiple EPs for a long time now. Just saying this is possible.

  • lol how is this a source on wikipedia. whoever is editing that page is a mong.

  • They said in the past that they were thinking of not releasing music in an album format. I think the idea of a part 2 makes sense, but I think it makes even more sense that they would possibly release mini-EPs or single tracks to compliment the album.

The King of Limbs is a short but pretty cohesive album, only the ending feeling a bit unresolved, so it would make sense to release tracks to continue off of it without being necessarily marketed as being part of the main album.

  • The length certainly makes me suspicious, but we're only talking about a 5 minute difference between this album and In Rainbows...and neither one are out of the ordinary for album lengths. I'm guessing it'll be like In Rainbows: the second disc is a bonus for buying the physical version, which is a shame. The Present Tense is a song I particularly liked and hoped to hear it.

  • i like the "the piper at the gates of dawn" cover in the background

  • @PornoBruzz I was just gonna say that :P

  • good shit, not to fond of the album yet but still would be pleased with more Radiohead.

  • TKOL was fucking epic in itself. If there is a part two, I would quite happily die upon it's end.

  • I really hope there is a part 2! :D

  • The two vinyls that come with the newspaper edition is what makes me think that there will be a part 2. 8 songs could easily fit on just one of them, so why have two?

  • @andrew5060 Never mind, forgot they were 10" discs. Another thing, why have the newspaper editions ship on May 9th? You can download the album now, buy the CD and vinyl in March, then wait 2 months for the newspaper editions? I mean why not ship it in March or April. So maybe they will come out with part 2 around that time.

  • @andrew5060 It's possible. "10 inch holds 28 min worth of songs maximum. KOL is like only 37 minutes long. But I think this album proves that predicting Radiohead's next move is nearly impossible. You should check out the huge discussion over at Stereogum about it.

  • yeah of course

    and Paul McCartney is dead...

  • Even the name The King of Limbs suggests there is more than one limb to the album!

  • @dantheman13131 dont get carried away now

  • Man, I so hope there is. TKOL(1?) grows on you with each listen

  • @OneInchWalrus

You don't listen to much RH do you? Thats how all of their music works

  • I think it would be pretty hokey to use the lyrics of a song to drop a hint about the distribution of your product, unless of course the idea for the two part release came after the song was recorded. Releasing the album on a dual 10" is kind of silly when it would fit easily on a single 12". But then I'm not the collector type, I just want the music with the best possible sound quality.

  • @zeno808 ha don't worry i think the idea came way after the writing of the song, separator has been around for a year or so now, and was originally titled "Mouse Dog Bird", so there is probably a reason for them renaming it separator

  • God I hope so, I'm so disappointed so far...

  • @bostero1 Gotta give it more time. Kid A got average/middling reviews when it came out, and now we look back on it as one of the best albums of all time. I'm not saying that The King of Limbs is as good as Kid A, but I'll need a lot more time before I can really make a judgment.

  • @bostero1 its not that bad man. its like all radiohead albums, it grows on you. anyways, i do hope there is a part 2 as well. would be AWESOME.

  • Well here are my thoughts. Firstly, the vinyls are only 10"... which isn't a large vinyl. A 10" vinyl generally only has 2 songs on each side. 2 vinyls + 2 sides = 8 songs. Also, i'd say there is a great chance of a part 2, but not within the next 24 hours. My bet is we won't get the rest of it (if there is such a rest) until they ship the physical copies, which isn't for a while.

PS. The download file might just be called "TKOL1" because of a possibly B-Sides album.

    I hope I am wrong.

  • @minimemarcus88 Yeah, as much as The King of Limbs part 2 would be awesome, I've gotta be skeptical.

  • when would they post it?

  • I don't know if we'll be informed within the next 24 hours. I think they'll release the rest of the songs as soon as they start selling the physical copies of TKOL. Rest seems fairly accurate though. And yeah, i'm really hoping for present tense, but what i'm thinking is that there will be about 3-4 more songs that will be released.

  • supposedly we will hear about a radiohead announcement tomorrow on youtube. been looking up stuff frantically in hopes of finding anything about a 2nd part. a source close to radiohead informed a friend that something would happen tomorrow on youtube. it was a tweet and now I can't find it.

  • Wow dude, good investigative work, I sooooooooo hope your right, so far digging The King of Limbs (part 1?)

  • i need to hear the present tense as a full song, then i can die happy

  • I've been hearing a lot about this and for the most part I think you and everyone else is right. The only part I disagree with is at the very end where you said we will know in the next 24 hours. Don't know why everyone thinks it only would come out tomorrow if its coming at all. I can imagine them releasing more music this year, maybe even the next month or 2, but why does it have to be tomorrow?

  • Hope yer right!

  • Wishful thinking imo, but we can hope.

  • Id add that they hinted that they were going to release this album in an innovative way. Well, nothing like that yet so Im guessing they will tomorrow. I'd throw out the 2 vinyl argument though cause they only hold like 25 minutes each if that. If anything thats an argument against it. Im hopeful though even though I seriously love tkol. Today has pretty much been entirely devoted to it haha. fingers crossed everybody

  • I hope you are right.
