actually at the end if you died after your teammates lagged out, you wouldnt have to start the mission over again, its still in co-op mode so that when you spawn it would be like you were with teammates, and not solo

I somehow managed to complete Oni LASO by myself. It took me a few hours and I completed the challenge at 4:30 AM Monday morning (just in the nick of time.) The Gauss hog never showed up for me so I had to kill the hunters with the regular warthog, which was difficult, but not impossible. The tips you gave for getting through the end really saved me a lot of time and trouble. Keep up the great work!

good tip on using the Gauss hog on the hunters unfortunately I didn't get to try it out since I went to far ahead with the wraith tank and hit a checkpoint and wouldn't let me go back and get it. So i decided to try and get the wraith tank over the barrier and it turns out you can just need 2 people with 1 person having armor lock (which there ends up being one in the hanger). 1 person goes into armor lock with their back against the barrier and the other person boosts the wraith towards them.

Also I don't know how you glitched out of this but to win this level at end you must clear out everything NOT just the invis zealots or whatever they are. The more people have the easier this is...

For 3 people or less-----> You can skip all the fighting in the beginning of this video, ditch the Wraith after you flip the switch in the LAST part then everyone jump in the hog and simply drive up to the gate, flip switch and check point is made. Don't worry the rev and other enemies won't come after you once you open the gate and enter..also you can use armor lock to get over the blocks and you don't have to have the plasma hog, the machine gun is fine it'll just take an ass load of time.GG

Just a thought, my friend and just completed Oni Laso without any gauss warthogs tricks or skipping fights. Its just a matter of bring persistent and not missing head shots when the elites shields go down. Also Kat is the best meat shield ever.

I have found assassinating Elites pretty effortless, lately. I simply sprint up to them at a slight angle, and when he goes to melee me I strafe to the side and whack him. He then attempts to about face and kick me, but I strafe around him again and deliver another blow. This dance of death (someone's gonna meet their end at the end of it) goes on like this until I either simply floor him with a punch to the rear, or if I get him exactly from behind and enter an assassination.

Yes!! Finally did it, though it took like 3 hours. I found that shortcut on the balcony (well my friend did), so we did it easy in the end. Awesome guide, without your tips I wouldn't of even attempted this mission again!! Thanks dude!!

I finished this this last night with my roommate. Took us 2.5 hours. I thought it was all over when he destroyed the second wraith. but we plowed through with the warthog, sneaking past enemies, and me stealing a revenant to destroy the enemies, including the hunters (great tip on the corners w/ the warthog btw). Thanks for the tips!

Get your buddy to take armour lock and drive full speed on him while hes into it. You'll make a nice little leap and voila!

Plasma Pistol + Headshot for them Elites if nothing else; In normal play it's just 1 overcharge and shields down. I know that in the first mission LASO it took 3 overcharges to take shields down of those mauve Elites (Field Marshal rank I think?) and maybe 2 headshots but we did it with assassinations and lots of whacking... These are mostly Ultra's I think though so maybe the noob combo works here...

Plasma pistol is ineffective with all skulls on. Assassination is the only practical way to kill an elite without a vehicle.

@HaloReachTutor This is untrue, given enough frags, sticks, and general gunfire, their shields will do down. I just finished LASO with a friend, it was really challenging but it can be done. The hunters were the hardest part without the gauss hog. Cool video.

besides assasinating an elite there is a really easy way to kill them. just shoot them with a plasma rifle which takes there shields down pretty fast then just headshot them with the dmr

Thanks man! This is a great series and very helpful. As a note, I was able to get the Gauss turret vehicle past the barriers just by driving it up the right side and wedging it between the wall and the right barrier. Just figured to add that in! Keep 'em coming!

A good tip is to hit select to view which weapon you have out.

Took me and a friend 2 hours and 46 minutes. We did it without the wraith or the warthog. The part with the two hunters, we sat in that room to the left and let Kat do damage on them, then we finished them off with the shotguns.

Alternatively, if you have someone with armor lock, you can have them lock right in front of the jersey wall and the other player can drive right over them into the courtyard with the gauss 'hog instead of chipping away at the walls.
