Physically, it doesn't make much sense as shown. There's no reason why the mom should've been going backward as the son was going forward. It would be more accurate to have the mom still straining forward against her seat belt while the son's body missiles over her seat back and then hits her in the back of the head while crushing her against the steering wheel.
But there are limits to the special effects you can do in an ad like this.
