  • I ALWAYS USE SCOUT MOVE and hope i come on the side i want!!!

    i also upgrade my scout sarg with a powfist you have 3 hits in the charge!!! way beter than just 1 Hit of the melta bom and also good vs dread because dreads rape you in close combat! and a melta bomb is shit vs dread i think it hits on a 6 right!>?

  • Note this tactic also works with Valkyries and storm ravens i put a veteran squad with demolitions in my Valkyrie then watch the fireworks when they get out next to a tank

  • Turbo Boost is 24". Skimmer flat out move is 18". Look it up, sorry to derail bro. Page 70. Fast vehicle on "road" can move 24".

  • Also forgot, skimmer. Unless he used landing gear, you always always hit on 6's unless it has been immobilized.

  • @Vydonis sorry the allway hit skimmers on a 6 rule is not in the new 5th edition hitting vechicles in assult is based only on movement being i skimmer now has no bering on the attacks. so vechicles and skimmers that have not moved are auto hit.

  • nope skimmer that are fast can move 24" page 71 Moving skimmers last sentence "a skimmer that is also fast and is moving flat out can move up to 24' look it up

  • i got a question with this if you glue in the crew of scouts do you just drop a squad of five on the ground and everything left in the land speeder is just fluff on the model i'm sure this question sounds dumb but keep in mind this comes from someone still pretty new to 40k and i get the basics but some things are still fuzzy to me

  • @Gunshotinyahead ok that makes sense the only reason i ask silly newbie questions is i am learning more and more that the place i really got alot of my gaming time at had people who picked and choose which rules they where going to follow like if a codex weapon rule that was not 5th edition(my necrons) then they decided that my codex was superceded by the rulebook all because one player bitched about my warscythe lol guess some people cant have fun when they play lol

  • there are no proper imperial flying vehicles apart from the Valkyrie thing that gets on my nerves. It would be nice if GW Could make a Thunderhawk or something cos the forge world is a rip off.

  • I tried this against an Eldar Ulthwe Army. I used to have great trouble against Eldar. Turn One took out the wave serpent carrying banshees. The explosion took out 2 of my scouts and 5 banshees. My opponent was so annoyed that he spent turn one tring to kill the scouts and speeder. The speeder actually survived, and turn two saw me use my Thunderfire Cannon and Whirlwind on the survivors....:D The stunt truly won me the game...gotta love grenades

  • i thought a scout move was one let to go 6 inches

  • the old scout move was 6 inches. now the rule states scouts can make a normal move. This means 6 for scouts but bikes can also turdo boost now for a scout move up to 24 and so can the scout speeder going flat out all are considered normal moves.

  • i showed my cousin this vid and he thought we should try it so he played marines with his new storm and my IG againts my 2 other cousins who are Ork and chaos (orks had stompa with big ball) and my cousins melta guns brought that sucker down by turn 2 even though i lost all men but we still won thanx dude

  • the scout move can be up to 24 inches becuse its a fast skimmer an it can move flat out. Anythime a skimmer thats fast moves flat out it can travle 18 to 24 inches

  • no you can feild it without the scouts if you wish.

  • well if you dont have the scout models you cant do the assault. all you can do is charge in and pop one tank. so yeah if your gona buy a storm buy 5 scouts :)

  • LOL! Dude! I used this on my friend who plays Tau, I did the exact same thing you said. When I destroyed his two hammerheads and about three fire warriors. He facepalmed. He eventually beat me but still it was funny.

  • heh heh, i just recently had this done to me by my buddy... he got first turn, and i failed to seize the init... he drived up to my leman russ punisher and leman russ demolisher, and he blows the shit out of both of them. BOOM!!!! there goes 450 points of my army.

  • its an armor killer thats for sure. you might want to reserve your armor if you have to play him agin and he gets first turn. :)

    I gues sno one could expect a land speeder and 5 socuts to kill over 600 points of models, even bette rthan that two fucking tanks.

  • Cool tatica. I was pretty set on a LandSpeeder storm but i'm totally settled now. Also I'm thinkign on a ThunderFire Cannon for my Drop Pod/Tyranid killing army a tactica onthat would help me greatly.

  • Only problem I can see here is you do not get the 4+ cover save for moving fast when you scout. It clearly says you get the 4+ cover save if you moved flat out in your previous movement phase and a scout move is not your movement phase.

  • ok i can see the arguement. i read both rules for scout and shooting at skimmers. it could be argued either way. i will look into that guess the question is dose the scout move count as a movement phase? In the past times its never been questioned. Thanks for the insight :)

  • ok did some more reading about the eratta. in that it states scout bikes can turbo boost for their scout move. turbo boost rules state that it can move up to 24" in the movement phase this implys that the scout move is a movement phase but i would not mind a dice off if an oppenent contests it :)

  • ok checkked with GW. there is NO cover save for scout moves. Thanks dude by pointing this out i was able to adjust my tatics :) thanks for keeping me honest :)

  • @ D Crimson - In your video, you could have scouted up to behind the ruins on the left on 2:10. If you lose the initiative, well, you are behind a wall but, otherwise, you should be within 12 inches. Simples. :D
