  • Thank you to the ghost of Jaques Ulrus, another peculiar and interesting singer I admire. For me, this is the best recording of Pertile even though it is outside the main focus of his rep. because of the "belcanto" clarity and smoothness of his line. Of course his exellent sense for tragic suggestion makes him a truly great edgardo. I find this so mesmerizing that I have difficulty analyzing clearly why it is so wonderful. Every detail tells me this is, in it's own way, perfect.

  • Un señor TENOR, una voz que nos deja seguir una personalidad rica y compleja, un poeta de la creación vocal que da su mejor justificación al personaje!! Bravo GRAN TENOR!!

  • Aureliano Pertile was the favorit tenor of Great Toskanini

    He was Great

  • Aureliano Pertile's interpretation of Edgardo's soulful & heartfelt aria is one of

almost painful intimacy. His performance is brilliantly moulded & crafted from

the elegant legato in the melodic line, the tasteful but emotionally powerful shading, the poetic phrasing & potent dynamics of every stunningly accented

word. The beating heart of Edgardo's torment can be heard in Pertile's pulsating

vibrato, expressive coloration & forthright conviction. Sublime artistry indeed!

    TY, Denis!

  • Sublime Pertile Grazie !

  • Second comment: beautiful orchestra of La Scala and conducting, BRAVI

  • THANKS, Denis!

Superb interpretation with 1 million nuances and accents! "Disperato pianto" is really heard in those beautiful, aesthetic sobs. Contrasts, pianissimi, portamenti, accented diction "rispete almen" and open A in "barbara" for interpretation, moooHHorte!

Extremely elegant singing throughout, his wonderful technique made it possible for him to interpret it this way. No wonder I hold him in such high esteem.

  • Dear Monica, I completely agree with you. He is my revelation! And I've read that Corelli admired him very much indeed exactly because of his highly emotional singing, and that Del Monaco cried at his performance of Otello!
