    "i was learning physics, dad."

  • This wasn't one shot, in the beginning at :57 you cut it, b/c we go from one angle to the other of about 4 feet in less than a second. So not sure why you didnt make it one shot.

  • what made the water boil? because water+fire= steam.... and water puts out fire right?

  • Then what would be pulling the string?

And, water puts out fire by seperating the fuel from the oxygen. Liquid fuels such as crude oil distillants float on water and don't mix, so the water doesn't seperate them. It doesn't look like a crude oil distillant though...

It also could be an alkaline metal because they react violently with water...

    *watches again*

I think it's sodium, the flame colour looks about right. Hard to tell, but judging by eye i'm fairly sure it is an alkaline metal.

  • thats possible...

and to answer your question, let me reword what i said..... the fire hit the top of the wood. possibly there was a string with a lot of tension coming from the other side. the fire burt threw the string making it go up. but after i think about it, im not sure if thats possible.... we have to think of ways that the potential energy was caused by someting.... but what? im sticking with my theory for now. lol

  • hi zade

  • Just watching that bit, it looks like something white was holding down the wood. Presumably then the tyre was weighted to turn as soon as it was released. There also seems to be something white inside the tyre.

  • Actually, it could be anything boiling the water. It just needs an oxidising agent like hydrogen peroxide (illegal) or ammonium nitrate (carefully monitored, but also used in plant fertiliser)

  • well either way he made it work somehow i mean you can see it right there.

  • HOLY @$#!

  • just for the idiots out there, the project is called RUBE GOLDBERG not Rune

  • RUNE goldberg dumbass

  • its been edited, this isnt real. you suck and i am gay

  • AWESOMENESS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That was awesome man...lol

  • At 2:49, what makes the tyre flip?

  • it was probably a string pulling it from the other side.... other than that im not sure...

  • CRAZY PYRO XD lol

  • "Never again will you have to boil your own water!"

  • how did you make the fuses?

  • Wow! That was a spectacular use of fire, flames, pyrotechnics, and a dazzling array of kinetically driven movements! Way to go,crazyassadam!

  • you do alot of fading in and out, mainly around shots where fire encompasses the whole screen. it was all in one take i hope. kinna defeats the purpose of a rune goldberg machine

  • pretty tight... i didn't like how it's self-proclaimed as being awesome, though

  • Now this is what I call a JOB WELL DONE! ROFLOL!

  • This is from the 1987 film by Peter Fischli & David Weiss called "The Way Things Go".

Lets give credit where credit is due.

  • i remeber i did somthing like this (only about 20 seconds long) but it took so many attempts tp get it right by the end it wasnt that impressive, although i think seeing this one work like that was amazing even if you did it 100 times

  • Some kid in my class used you video and siad it was his for a project.

  • OMG! THAT IS SO AWSOME!

  • The original is 30 minutes long, they had to edit it.

  • 1:43 is friggin awesome...

must have taken a long time to aim it :D

  • That's insane!

  • awesome...

  • Superb! Definitely a don't try this at home lol - well, not in a furnished room anyway

  • So what it's been edited. The fact is, it worked! The bits where it was edited were probably because the fuses took a little too long to catch light.

  • edited!

  • Nice rune goldberg man! The little rocket boat was sweet!

  • It's cool but there are some parts where you can see that it's been edited

  • oi TREE-BOB-A-KNOB you boring fuck, its better than great,,,, its fucking great,,, awesome video dude,,,i mean FUCKING awesome video dude,,,

  • thats great

  • i like the comet part the best, 2:15ish
