I'm very impressed with how you're handling this situation with your daughter. This is one of the best videos I've seen on ME because you were willing to come out and tell the truth about what we all have to deal with. I'm learning from you. I don't have kids, thanks to ME, but I face the same issues you do. I'm finding that it's important to have strong boundaries and you've got 'em. :)
We live in a spoiled, selfish country. If you look at places like Africa, all the parents there are dying of AIDS and the children are left literally all alone to feed themselves and take care of their siblings because most of the adults are dead. People there wouldn't dream of making fun of the sick. Unfortunately, our country and other "richer" countries are full of spoiled, self centered people with no compassion at all, until it happens to them. It is sad your kids have to go through it.
