In fact, let me spoonfeed it to you: the budget was balanced. That is what you call "liberty," little fella. Currently, the deficit is $1.3 trillion and the debt is $15.2 trillion.

And how do you explain Newt's change of tone in the last couple years? When he was endorsing Government Sponsored Entities like Fannie & Freddie, Ron Paul was warning about them.

As to your other point, Gingrich advised Fannie and Freddie to make the very changes that would have saved them from disaster.
