No way one gets over autism. You learn to manage, to learn social skills, speech however the amygdala in the brain is under developed therefore empathy is impossible. One can learn to mimic, and very well too however think of the implications
I lost all my friends when i hit puberty, and i havn't been able to get any since. I'm slower than others at cooking, writing, reading and when i do schoolwork i'm much slower than the others. I'm physically clumsy. When people tell me to do something i won't understand it enough, though other people easily understands it. It feels like i have a different personality in me that i can't use when i'm suposed to be using it. if you know what disorders i have please tell me :(
What a beautiful story of hope...just as they intended, my daughter, who is around the same age as their daughter, has Autism and, after watching this by myself first, then choosing to let her watch it with me, as I do all Autism videos, she is starting to open up little by little to tell me more. I always knew her intelligence & laughter was there...she has won spelling bees, etc. Watching this family is helping us work together to progress more! Thank you so much Krueger Family!
I think it is lovely that they acknowledgement of families that suffer from having to work and not being able to be there as much! She is a beautiful child I hope my son can have a normal life!
My daughter is on the spectrum. Last year she tried to sell books on Amazon but was late shipping the books. They permanately deleted her account. However, they have deleted MY account, her mother just after a week that I created it this August. They told me "do not bother writing back". They punish an entire household. Do NOT use Amazon. They also refuse to reimburse me for the shipping I paid for. I told them about ASD and they didn't care. I have followed all Amazon rules. This is her account
I am watching and listening to her and she comes over to me as having Aspergers Syndrome. I pass as "Normal" as well. As you age you learn how to adapt.
Bill acknowledged that many families have two working parents with, maybe, multiple children so the resources and time are not as available to everyone. Jo expanded on this by saying that schools often don't know what to do with these special needs children. I'd go one further to say some familes have only one parent and many schools are in such disarray that classroom management is the best that can be hoped for-let alone special services.
Thanks for sharing your story. Your daughter seems like an awesome person. I think she could accomplish anything she really wants to do. Good Job, parents.
Eight years ago my son was diagnosed by four different doctors with autism. With a lot of prayer and hard work no one can hardly tell he has it . He is 11 years old now . He is one of the smartest kids in his class. He has lots of friends now. He still seems to have attention issues we are working on that. I'm not saying miracle cure. With GOD all thing possible. PLEASE DON'T GET MAD AT OTHERS FOR THEIR SUCCESSES WITH THIS TRYING DISORDER.
Ester Seals is where my son went for his treatments.
That's meant when you grow up, you does not get special education and thepary. Diagonsed with autism at 16 has very poor outcome! You may have Asperger's. People with that disorder often does not get diagonsis until older childhood and adulthood.
ya.. this does not go away and its ridiculous.... the parents are in denial. My daughter is currently in the process of being diagnosed and my brother of 20 yrs has autism.... this does not go away.. its a neurological disorder.... Did we find a cure for cancer now too? or have i been somewhere else unaware of all of these dramatice changes in the world!!!!! Anyone who has an autisic daughter/ son/ family member and are close to them can see this girl has autism still.... or is it just me?
its not as easy to get help when your a lower class family with a child that has been diagnosed with autism... you have to go where your insurance tells you to go.. these people probabl had the best of help best of doctors.. This story is not for everyone.. Not every family has the capabilities to go out and do whatever they want to do to help there child. its sad WAY TO GO USA.. thanks for all ur help!
Autism isn't a disease, or something that can be cured. These parents need to stop being being delusional. Yes, with help early on things can get better. It doesn't mean that that person no longer has autism. It's kind of disgusting that they think that. It really does send the wrong message.
she is beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeautiful! I love watching her listen, and her manner of speaking is quite disarming. She seems more well adjusted than i was at 15 and i'm "normal".
I have a 9 year old daughter that has been labeled autistic by the school system. They thought that because she learned to speak with ecolalia. She interacts with other children now to a limited degree I believe because of a commnication deficit. BUT she doesn't have tantrums, he isn't a difficult child, no one knows that anything is wrong with her other than her communication deficit and because of that social limitations. I have never told her she has been labeled with this. Should I?
Thank you so very much for posting this. My daughter is 8 years old and it makes me feel good to see how well your daughter is doing. We are having a difficult time right now and I really needed to see this. Thank you.
@diane1261: Don't let anyone tell you autism can't be cured. In fact, I think my youngest brother may be autistic. I wasn't though, although being the sheltered kid I was most of my life, didn't help my social skills at all, even though they're okay now. ;-)
sounds like she came a long way from where she was...my 5 year old is mildly autistic and just started t-ball...it's hard for him to concentrate because ther's lots of down time in baseball...but he loves it.
is there something wrong with this video? It's not streaming at all correctly. I came over from the Trusera site to see if it would be better and it's not.
hope. :)
