  • This is not Iai. Especially the last action is not correct. The actor is misunderstanding something. Katana is not baseball bat.

  • @tom3zero are you certain? i knew few korean friends. at least 3 of them praticed with kendo. however, they told me korean kendo is slightly different than the japanese one. something to do with fighting style.

  • @tom3zero Though the demo of this clip is obviously influenced by Japan, Korea certainly had swordsmanship throughout its long history. For historical proof, please visit "swordsofkorea com".

  • yes this is japanese bushido even though koreans might say its theirs but they copied japans fighting styles even the sword they call ti something else japan should sue south korea for copyright infringment for copying the katanas design

The South Korean practices to mimic a Japanese culture every day.

  • Why is it Korean?

The KENDO is martial arts of the Japan.

  • This indeed is Korean Haedong Gumdo. You can tell by the type of swords they're using. You can see it better in /watch?v=BBl664zGcCg (same recording). She clearly uses a Jingum instead of a katana. They tend to use flashier and sometimes bigger koshirae (fuchi, kashira, tsuba etc).

Haedong Gumdo can be considered a far cousin of Japanese swordsmanship with a little *bling bling* make-over.

  • what is difference between japanesse sword fight and korean sword fight?

  • The South Korea sword doesn't exist

  • looks fun :)

    Bushido is japanese!

    not corean !

  • Comment removed

  • look at 2:50's cut

  • That looks alot like Gum do. with the rapid multiple strikes.

  • i like the lady shes good ;-)

  • This video I believe is mislabeled.

Iai is drawing AND cutting, this is kenjutsu because he draws and then cuts.

  • You real sword master.Thank you from Bulgaria.

  • Thats right... this is Korean. The guy kinda swings the crap outa that sword too... lol.

  • WOw yea, this guy is really good. Totally better then most of the others I have seen.

  • Nice touch with the miniclips showing the technique with an opponent. Some good cuts too.

  • Ity is Iai do, th way of drawing, cutting and putting it back :p

  • Is this not haedong gumdo, by any chance?
