The difference between the Hertz in each ear determines the frequency of the beat and there's nothing placebo about it! you need headphones or a wide stereo field for it to work.
So 300Hz in one ear and 305Hz in the other will combine in the brain and induce a beat or 5Hz which is the difference between the two signals.
Digital drugs almost because for some people it's really effective and they become almost dependent on it, granted you cant become chemically defendant but it would be the same as addicted to video games I guess, either way it's relatively effective for me.
i like using speakers and having the noise happen in the air and then goes through/touches my whole body. i feel like it can work that way, maybe differently. i also feel like its pretty unnatural to have a different sound in each ear so distinctly.
i think that you have to use headphones in order for the binaural to affect you because you need the extreme stereo separation cause there are ohter Hz's playing at each headphone if you use speakers and if you solo the right speaker your left ear will liste too because there is no seperation so in a way both your ears listen to the same hz instead of listening othe hz at the right and the left
I use the beats. Been about two weeks now. I seem to remember what I read more and feel calmer. I think they work. For me anyways. Been a very positive thing for me.
omg this is soo real...i did it first then told myself to come on youtube and see if i find more....and i was listing to, i think 13-40, now when i was done i can still here it and i was shaking alot...but in a good way it made me feel soo werid i loved it tho! this video helped me understand more about the gama waves
You can rule out the placebo effect by not telling someone what brain state a particular track would put them in and then measuring the brain state after listening to the track.
You do NOT need to spend anywhere near an hour on these.
You can achieve a certain brain state in a few minutes of listening to a binaural beat track.
You are not alone about the numbness phenomena. I actually use it just to get that detatched feeling of numbness. The single best way to use binaurals, in my opinion is by using it in the same manner in which the brain works. Start out in the morning with alpha then theta. At night try beta alpha theta delta and possibly gamma. Brain Sync mixes it up like that, depending on what you want such as concentration, less stress, or inner peace blah blah etc.
Thanks for posting your video bro. I actually just started experimenting with binaural beats myself, don't really understand all the mechanics behind it, but I'll have to admit I have seen some noticeable positive changes as far as everyday experience goes. Who knows maybe there's something to this.
Dude, If your going to try to "inform" people about something it helps to know what it is and how it works. Its not the placebo effect. Its been demonstrated on EEG many times. Second, you've got the frequencies completely wrong. Third, there are 5 "states" not 4. You forgot Gamma. Next, monks meditate at around 40 hz in the gamma range. None of this have been demonstrated to have any tangible benefit or "healing power" its just a fun thing to do. Get your shit strait man, damn.
very cool man. thanks for posting and getting the information out there. i, for one, think it works really well. it's an intriguing phenomenon and especially so if done everyday over an extended period of weeks or days. this vid is over a year old, are you still listening?
This one's something that I think people should start looking in to. I tried out Jakub Koter's binaural apps for the iPhone (well I only have an iTouch but it still works), and Mind Freek kinda did...well.. freak me out. lol, anyway, I was lying in my bed one afternoon, nothing else i could think of to do, so I decided to try out the "3rd-eye-float", wondering if it might let me see occult things and such (lol).. so, there it went, playing through my headphones, and around 5 minutes later..
.. (im not sure if i was asleep or dreaming or half and half but..) i was at a position where its like.. as if im paranoid or something.. the music was getting into my head and i was struggling so hard to lift my hands and take my headphones out, i was so desperate to 'wake up' , so i managed to "wake up" but ended up still being in a dream, this time a better one that's not so wierd lol.. soon i woke up, and my headphones were off of me.. i was so relieve.. im not sure if i wanna try it again..
I think when your arms go numb as you said that you are experiecing a minor form of sleep paralysis, and this is not the right aproach for binaural beats and meditation. Do you have the lights off? If you do this may be a reason why. you should always have the lights on so your mind can stay aware. :{0
Hey mutedmind. You should buy some of Dr Jeffrey Thompson's works. They're just CDs that cost about $20 (well that's NZ dollars so probably about $15 US). You cannot hear the BBs, they're 'embedded' beneath relaxing music. Just look it up on Amazon. Also google Holosync - they're superior in the field of using BBs through meditation. Good luck.

Has anybody tried the dose colled Hand of God and does it even work for that price of $199.95 shzzzzzzz.from $3.50 the price of most doses to this particular one of £199 these guys must be shot.
yes, I have many times, And it is a good meditation aide, but the price is hype. I had a rather incredible experience with it on dxm, but the thing is you must be an experienced meditator, and have mental discipline in order to get these to work.
there is also one called gates of hades that is also 200$, but its supposed to give you nightmares, why would you pay money, especially 200$ to have nightmares?
HAHA! The numbness is actually the first step in astral projection. The ethereal body can't leave the physical body while the conscious mind is still functioning. The nano-second the conscious mind stops functioning that effect kicks in. Then its all about getting out. I'll check out this binaural stuff since I understand enough to take advantage of it.
i dont think its placebo because i just stumbled upon binaural video while looking for lucid dreaming techniques not knowing anything about it. i decided to close my eyes and immediatly went into meditation and feet and hands started tingling. ive tried meditation many times and acheived deep meditation about 20 minutes faster with binaural beats

Oh and it definitely isn't a placebo effect, I tried some 4Hz beats yesterday with many tones on the same beat. I was basically sleeping but I was awake(ish.) I can hardly remember anything, I was right out of it.
Don't bother with the programs you have to pay for. Sbagen (google it) has no GUI, though it is a completely free and open source beat generator which you can make your own beats in. It also comes with presets.
ive been advised by my neurofeedback practitioner that she gets patients coming in mentally ill after using "holosync" for long peroids of time.
