They are yellow to show that the car has carbo ceramic breaks which are the best in the world for stopping a car fast.

The car he drove up to the crah may have been a real LP640 but more likely than not the one you see taking the hit is a replica. I guess that's one scenario replica haters can actually love replicas for. I knew he would crash it though, painfully obvious.
