  • Love means to suffer for a person or thing; you love it so much you spend your time on it in your suffering life. There is desire in love. Relationships are also connected to the amount of time given to the relationship; something shown by television and youtube: The more time you spend with it, then the more attached you become; Hot For Words depends upon everyone watching every video and creating a loving attachment to Marine Orlova. Love, suffering for it; time is the attachment.

  • We all know English speakers love to borrow (and mutilate) French words!! :) Now, let's consider something more useful than etymology: meanings in current contexts. "Love," I think, is the most dysfunctional word in the English language. Hotforwords, as she always does, stamps out all the other shades of meaning this word has by simply appearing on that screen to guys like indian838.

For being "hotforwords," you sure do strangle, pervert, and debase the word love. Thanks a lot.

  • Armastus - Estonia

  • what the hell does What do u have mean?????

Girl this is not Slavic to say Што ти е? this is english and it would be What is wrong with u :)

  • love is Kjærlighet in Norwegian

  • Amor = Love

    in Portuguese Brazil

  • Amor = Spanish

  • I think I'm "in love!" How did the expression "in love" come to be? To me, the phrase suggests "love" is a place or condition, not simply an emotion. Perhaps it's because being "in love" is being strangely and strongly connected to someone else, under the spell of a magic power, like being "in chains," to put it in an extreme way. It's sort of like how I'm mesmerized by you - you are intensely alluring!

I wanted to say it here instead.

  • You know what I think it is Teach? I think love can be taken as being equal to zero because love ruins the game before it even gets started. There is the phrase "Love conquers all." Once in LOVE there is nothing left to compete for.

    ~LOVE=HARMONY~

  • So why would LOVE=0 (?)

there is probably a lot more significance in that than meets the eye

Since as you mentioned Love and Desire are Universal

  • Just as when you make love and your partner and you both are really into it and it feels really hot and blissful and the wind of a whisper flutters in your ear and it comes out as ~LOVE~

  • So here's a comment I know you'll apprecitate

It doesn't really matter how linguistically correct you are when you tell someone you "love" them.

The value of expressing true love to another is in how much you really mean it when you say it.

  • Bet your dates pine for you something aweful soon afterwards. I almost feel sorry for those guys, then again...

knowledge is power and wisdom would dictate that love can at times be fatal

probably where the term "femme fatale" orginated from, huh?

and that guy who asked you to go dutch

    what was he thinking anyway?

that dude must have been on crack, ajax, or he had a fondness for leather men in afterhour spas and didn't find it neccessary to mention it to you

The differences between 'cinta' and 'sayang' is that the word cinta are strictly romantic, and could not be applied on an animal, siblings or non-living objects. Whereas the world sayang can be applied on just about anything that you love.
