the VG30E is still better than the VE30DE, who gives a crap if the VE was DOHC. VG got its name in Z31 and V6 200sx, plus you can use the Z31 turbo exhaust manifolds on a 3rd gen Maxima so its easier to turbo than the VE.

plus the VE was only 30hp more than the VG stock, throw a CAI, Y-pipe, and exhaust on a VG and youre already at the same HP as VE, 190

@OZ31K to VE swap you have to redo all of the wiring, that alone is such a pain in the ass it would be easier to just get a VE model, only a few people have VE swapped.

time/energywise turboing the VG is still more efficient, you can even just drop a Z31 turbo engine in although its better to turbo the Maxima VG because it has better compression

Im going to spend lots of cash because i was thinking of rebuilding it because my Vg has broken injectors and its misfiring .. i just wanted to rebuild it so i can have a motor i can rely on. How much you estimate the motor rebuild will cost?

@OZ31K injectors vary in cost but for a garage to do it, it can be $700+. its not too bad to do yourself and a good thing to learn

new injectors would probably fix the misfire as well

third gens are nice on high speeds, unlike US spec 4th gen maximas. I had 4th gen maxima it would run out of steam after 125mph. Engine runs out of power after 5600rpm in 95-99 maximas.

But I've got a bimmer now, which is very nice!!!

3rd Gen (1989-1994) Maximas are fast cars--they love highways and "want" to go fast! I love 'em! I've been at 137+ GPS MPH sustained in my '93 GXE at 25F ambient cold dense dry air on a nice cold roadway. There was one night when I hit 135 MPH and realized I was also in a 35-40 MPH headwind (170 MPH airspeed)! 3rd Gen Maximas could use with a true-aerodynamic spoiler above 160 to 200 MPH--they start to vertically oscillate/flutter a little above 165 MPH airspeeds. :-D

If you have the GXE, it comes with the VG engine, and your packing a whopping 160hp and 182 ft.lbs. of tq. The SE models from 92-94 had a VE engine(only used in that car EVER by Nissan) with 190/190 but trust me.. It feels like alot more as you can see. And his mods are in the description.
