Wait! I just listened to this about a dozen times in a row...and it's starting to sound like a song about a man who has had a sex change operation...? anyone ?? tee. NOT THAT THERE'S ANYTIHNG WRONG WITH THAT. lol (but..really...check the words closely...)
just woke up with this song BLASTING thru my head and I bet I aint heard it in at least 20 years. nice graphics, man. this is such a great, strong song. :-)
Great job on your video! Wanted you to know it is posted in my Facebook group called Songs of Strength. If you're a facebooker, love for you to join us for more like this!
Long time REO fans, remember when REO started producing their own songs? Even the old stuff gained new energy. You would go to a concert and other than crowd noise, the quality and the energy were exactly like the studio version? Remember when the 3rd verse of every song was a Richrath guitar solo? Ahhh......
@kidderse i saw them in their 1st bigtime headliner @ KIEL AUD. ST. LOUIS, '76, aLPINE vALLEY WI. THIN LIZZY, 77 AND sUPERJAM 79 W/ IAN HUNTER, ROCKETS, THE CARS, HEAD eAAST & rEO-KILLER TOP BILLERS-I AM OLD
@MrDavidleslie my 1st time seeing them was in a bar in Urbana IL.... don't really remember a whole lot about that night other than the music rocked.... roflmao
I saw these guys live about 10 times !! The best ever live band, period, hands-down they had no equal !!!! I am going to my first radiation treatment for cancer, this is sure a song to have to go there with !!!!!
@Margala624, hang in there Margala, it will get better, sooner or later the Sun will come out again!! I myself have been unemployed for 11 months even with my Master's degree and my unemployment will run out in about two weeks unless there is an extension from Congress!! I thank God that my wife works as an engineer. One of the things that keep me Pushing On no matter how bad things get is the unconditional love that I get from my three beautiful canine daughters, Cuchi, Mama and Penny Lane!!
@proudhawkeye Thanks for the nice words - found out Thursday I'm going to be laid off - husband died 2 years ago and have an 8 year old - scared to death, but I will keep trying!
@stonycurtis101 It's nice to see comments from the Midwest... The best rock and roll concerts were in Detroit, Chicago, Grand Valley State University, Wings Stadium, L.C. Walker Arena. I got a chance to see them outdoors at the Electric Rodeo at La Mar Park located in Wyoming MI a suburb of Grand Rapids in 1978. What a show.

@DStreb21 the electric rodeo show was actually in 1976, I remember it well, I was 15 and born in 1961 I had a T-shirt from it that got worn out but saw one for sale on ebay a while back. The line-up for the show was : Starz, Nils Lofgren, Renaissance, Heart, REO, and Johnny & Edgar Winter.
i saw the Band live on this tour with Ted Nugent and Lynyrd Skynyrd and while Ted and Skynyrd were great, these guys were hungry for the "big time" and turned out one helluva show...out-fucking-standing!!!! One of the best shows I've ever seen-and brutha, I've seen quite a few. quite a few indeed...
this is what keeps me- pushin' on- as it reminds me of the past and to not stop pushin' for a better future, you see you don't have to agree with musicians you just enjoy their music as it's their gift to the world !!!
I'm going through a lot of shit right now with school. So much work to do and at the same time I have my finals in a couple of weeks. But it's all good though, I'm about to graduate college in a couple of weeks too. So I gotta KEEP PUSHING ON! Just wanted to listen to this masterpiece during my break. Now I feel motivated to get back to work! Damn I wish music was like this today. I wish I was a teen in the 70's!
@Me4678 - Good luck with the finals!! I can understand how this song can help (along with a few much needed breaks.) BTW - it was great being a teen in the 70's with music like this.
@koko9900 The problem today is that, there IS good music, but you have to dig and dig and dig just to find it. People accept CRAP as mainstream music today. They push crap in the mainstream because its easy to duplicate and is cheap to produce massively. Such a shame that this generation will never know good music...
I heard them live for the first time about 3 weeks ago and this song keeps coming back to me. It isn't one that radio stations play but I had heard....now I listen to it nearly every day! Keep rockin REO!
When this album first came out I could not stand it , but my friend Mike Hern, keeped playing it as we cruised the El Camino real in Sunnyvale CA. it started to grow on me and today it is one of my favorite live albums of my life thanks Mike A.J.D.
This was the best LP REO ever released....Live "You Get What You Played For"...problem is, if you get it on CD you dont get all the songs, and a few are cut. Thats sad.......
was there Pittsburgh
