The census is the basic headcount and required by law...the long form with detailed questions is also required by law under title 13 sections 141 and 339! Fill it out and shut the fuck up. And regardless if you didn't complete it they still got your information. And everyone of those questions had to do with our census you idiot.

First time US census was used against Americans was during Shermans march to figure out who and where to raid for food fuel and firearms along the way. The last time it was used was to round up Japanese for internment camps that I know of that's public knowledge. Could be again

rg2027x is correct, but I don't understand all those making such a big deal out of this. Give them only the amount of people living in your home and simply don't answer questions you are not comfortable with. I gave them the amount of people living in the our home, ages, sex, and first names only. I did not provide relationship info, a phone number, etc and for race I put chose "other" Human.

I get what you're saying, however, you must realize - they are telling you that they need this information to help your county with finances...it is UNCONSTITUTIONAL, regardless of the questions, and that, in it's own, should piss people off! We put how many people and that is it! My race, sex, or name has nothing to do with how much money my county will get! Unless they are descriminating. Get what I mean?

This is no big deal. Tell them how many people live in your home and leave everything else blank. I don't understand why so many are up in arms about this. If the gov can get the additional info then good for them. If not, oh well, It doesn't hurt for them to ask.

Tell me why so many people are ok with giving this type of information to phone companies or hospitals BUT not the census. are you going to with hold your date of birth at the hospital to protect your self that just sounds silly.

Pursuant to Article I, Section 2, Clause 3 of the Constitution, the only information you are empowered to request is the total number of occupants at this address. My name, sex, age, date of birth, race, ethnicity, telephone number, relationship and housing tenure etc. have absolutely nothing to do with apportioning direct taxes or determining the number of representatives in the House of Representatives.

Indicate how many people in your house. and attach a copy of Article 1, Section 2 of our Constitution which deals with the enumeration (counting) of citizens, which happens for the purpose of determining how many House representatives each state receives:

The actual Enumeration shall be made within three years after the first meeting of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent term of ten years, in such manner as they shall by law direct. < that's it.. nothing more.
