i have a mazda tribute 2001 it now has 157k on it and have never had a serious problem other than normal service it has a lifter ticking for the last 10k but it seems to be a pretty good car other than that its been good this is the first mazda we have had so i dont know much about the company other than ford took it over and i have always done my own repairs so i am not bound to the dealer cost of being robbed but i will keep you informed on the car
Um, I have no Idea where you take your car to be fixed..But, 15k/45K service shouldn't be $600..Thats all fluff... Period... 30/60K service MAYBE... $3100 for a transmission??? Aamco or other REPUTABLE shops should only charge half that... My sister in laws 2004 Tribute had a transmission issue at 145K and it was $1,500 for a new transmission from a local, independent mechanic... Its not all Mazda or Ford... Its not understanding its a "stealer-ship" not a reputable repair facility
Ho, I worked for Mazda for 7years as a master certified tech. The problem is like the other person said. FORD!!! That is really a escape in Mazda clothing. Anything made from Mazda is long lasting except for earlier body parts unless the car was garaged or kept very clean. The trans is ford. I had replaced tons of them, the steering rack, ford. Replaced tons of them. The lower control arms, ford the bushings separate from the control arms, replaced tons of them The alternator, ford, replaced qu
don't blame Mazda, ford took over Mazda around the year 2000 so all the cars are just ford thats why they suck, models before 2000 are the real Mazda, i got a 1994 mpv Mazda and it has over 120,000 the only major problems it has giving us is the computer, other people i have know have there mpv Mazda for 1989 and they have over 200,000 miles on them, If ford hadn't taken over Mazda you would not be having those problems now
I feel for you, I had a 2006 Mazda 6v6 gt and after 2 years had total engine failure, they wanted me to pay $13,000 for the repair. My cousin had similar problems with her Mazda 3. I will never buy Mazda again
Ford got about 20 percent of mazda since 1996. And the Result of this is " Bad Quality and high Costs " My Uncle got a Mazda 6 Diesel which was made around 2006, and the Car rusts ... Hello ? the Car is only 3 Years old ! I am very sorry for you, that you have so much problems with your Mazda.
Thank you for the comment. That is why General Motors and Ford losing their business against foreign cars. People lost faith in buying American vehicles. If I knew Mazda is Ford owned, I wouldnt ever think of buying this stupid car.
mazda is a good cars . .got mazda 6 diesel 2007 model and have had 3 mazda cars before this one. Mazda cars does not have many problems compare to other cars =)

Go and get an older Mazda and you will be suprised ! My 91 MX-3 runs great with his first engine ! Newer Mazdas = Ford = S H I T
