the only down side is that I think I will need to go to single rotor fp very soon.... thinking about the walkera cb100... it's always too windy outside!
just getting into helicopters I was stuck in the rock crawler world for a while I bought one of those syma 3ch helis at the mall and was like this is way to easy, so I looked briefly and decided to get this heli max axe micro, I don't know why people are talking so negative about it? I got mine out of the box and trimmed the spin a bit then to one side and then to the back and it practically stayed put I let go of the control and it stayed in one area! very stable
i know nothing about rc helicopters so i thought i would ask you for some help i have this same rc helicoter and everytime i try to get it to fly the helicopter just spins on the floor
My girlfriend and i both learned how to fly on this guy. It does try to fly backwards on take off, dont try to fix it with trim. take off with the right stick almost full forward, once off the ground bring the stick back a little. We have broke 2 lower rotors (easy to replace and cheap) and yesterday we were flying in the wind and couldnt bring it back, and landed sideways in a ditch and broke the 2 little pins off the top shaft. i think i will work on fixing that now hehe. great little chopper!
hey with mine, its spinnin to the left and i got the trim all the way to the opposite side but its still spinning to the left, my dad says one of the blades is SLIGHTLY heavier than the other.......anything i can do about it??? anything would help
I have had a axe cx for about 9 months now. The only problems i have had is i broke one set of top rotor blades and burnt out two rear motors. Still running the original front motor. I work offshore for a living and i fly mine on the derrick i work on. I have alot of hours on this heli and they have all been rewarding. Great heli.
antennae wire can be removed from the landing skid and with the battery out, can be tucked under the "floor board" inside the cockpit. I thought it might affect the balance of the aircraft, but it didn't seem to make any difference in flying at all.
As for the rotor teeth Jay, I did break mine too, so I drilled two tiny holes on each side of the rotor shaft and used two 1/8" long piece's of hay wire for dowels. Works fine.
I just got one last week. never flew one before, so I just started learning to hover and gradually gained altitude and maneuverability. You can learn to fly with these if you go slow. Mine was balanced perfectly but I do attach the battery with the aircraft sitting on a flat surface. Love my new toy!
I just got one... Im very dissapointed with it, its actually total junk. I broke the top two rotor teeth on the first run. No matter how a trimmed it the batteries always pushed the chopper back as its just unbalanced.. I have experience with these and the plastic is obviously very fragile, obviously something Im sure Heli-max is well aware of because you just have to spend more money on more broken parts. Everytime you crash YOU WILL break something.
Sorry to hear about that jay. The thing everyone has to remember is that these aren't really beginner models. I have been flying for many many years and even though I find them easy to fly, I don't recommend a pure beginner to fly one without help. I wish someone could have helped with your first flight. You would have had a much better experience. Don't give up on the hobby, just try to find someone to help.
Jay....don't worry about that..everyone has the same problem with the upper rotor shaft. You can simply glue the broken pins (or make similar pins and glue them) and reinstall your blades. I've done this three times!
Try a cheap flight sim like FMS (free for download-buy the transmitter on ebay) or E-Sky flight sim. Improve your skill on the helicopters in simulator and then think about flying your CX Micro......you'll find it an awesome tiny flying machine!
hey i got a axe cx and at take off it trys to fly backwards ive adjusted the trim all the way forward but it still leans back how do i adjust the gyro
It looks like it flys like a CX2 and even sounds like it, except the CX2 is twice as expensive... I just got one Im keeping my fingers crossed. I hope its not a total piece of junk...
Don't worry jay, you'll be fine. You do have to remember one important thing though. Even with these machines being advertised as beginner helicopters, they aren't for the flyer with zero experience. I've seen many many people crash these coaxial machines time and time again only to blame the heli, radio or wind. These machines fly like a helicopter which is the hardest of all aircraft to fly. Please go slow and learn to hover and you'll enjoy this sport alot! Good luck and happy rotoring!
When you make the battery connection with the transmitter on, I think it would be a good idea to have the heli on a flat level surface in order for th gyro to properly initialize?

interesting - mine simply spins clockwise and refuses to hover. The damn thing spun around and broke the boom when it fell of my bed

You are absolutely correct! Sometimes we get used to things and forget the little details. Good job on that one!
