My '09 SLK300 with all AMG options, and all MB options, is bad to the bone. From the stereo, the seats, electronics, the suspension & handling, the steering, exhaust notes, torque/power, McLaren coolness factor, lighting, and ease ass a daily driver...not many cars for this amount of money are better.
The Zed3, is not as plush, and not a true 4 season vehicle. I have owned a Porsche Boxter S and SLK230, the SLK was waaaaaaay better not as fast but more comfortable. Go gor the SLK hail Mercedes-Benz!!

Well to be honest , mercedes may 'sound' very expensive, but it all depends on the use of the car , like with all other cars.
When you keep it well maintained and give it it's needed service, everyone with a steady job can afford it...atleast if you don't go to wicked on the engine-part ;)
After driving Corvettes for over 10 years I had a parting of ways with GM (over their quality and customer service), and got an SLK350 to replace my last (and I do mean last) Vette. It is much more refined, and although it has less raw horsepower and a bit less space, it's a lot more fun to drive.
When buying my new car two months ago, I test drove a corvette, porsche boxster, bmw 330ci, honda S2000, audi TT, Infiniti G35, and the Mercedes SLK...I really liked the porsche, but in the end it had to be the Mercedes SLK...and no regrets! The hard to convertable and power cannot be matched and I love the tip-tronic transmission!

What the fuck is wrong with you? This car is $50,000 (wicked overpriced) and gets to 60mph in 6.1 seconds. How about the brand new SL65 AMG, which gets to 60mph in 4.2 seconds? Or the SLR McLaren better yet, which gets to 60mph in 3.6 seconds? Now if you want to pay less for the same car, just from a different brand, try the Audi TT, which is roomier, more fuel-efficient, less show-offy, and sportier than the Mercedes SLK and its very similar overpriced partner, the Porsche Boxster. GO AUDI!!!!!

yes lol I'm from Massachusetts so I've been kinda used to saying wicked. And yea, the Audio Preview thing is kinda stupid cause the computer voice can't even pronounce 2008 correctly, or AMG correctly.

I just think that for $50,000 it could be a little sportier, more powerful, and more reliable. But it isn't a horrible buy. All I'm saying is that you get all in the TT of what you get in the SLK, and better fuel economy, for about $10,000 less. But this car has a sexier look, slightly more luxurious interior, and a more accurate handling. They're both good cars. German cars rule!

The TT looks cool, but I have to admit the SLK has an even hotter exterior, and actually a slightly nicer interior as well. I drove my friend's 06 SLK280 today. What I learned is that it's also wicked fun to drive. We took it around backroads, and got a lot of fun out of it. It can drive well at high speeds. It might not have a exceptionally quick acceleration or top speed, though it's easy to stay at a high speed, and it's fun as well. However, the TT is ALMOST all of the SLK, for $10,000 less.

They're not really different, it's just that Audi and Mercedes-Benz have different objectives. Mercedes-Benz "sports cars" are better for backroad bombing and high-speed driving, but Audi "sports cars" are more for racing/accelerating/competition, etc. Yes Audis might sound better, but Mercedes-Benz's are quite a bit more reliable and more accurate.
