actually mary jane didnt want to make the deal and told peter that it's probably aunt may time to go and peter to accept it but peter selfish guilt deny that and guilt trip her into a position she didn't want to be if she refuse, she would feel responsible for his suffering. It's just as peter's fault because he should have man up, He even saw Aunty may through Madam Web about living with his wife and have children and he disrespect her will and he also met God to tell him that stuff happens.

Couldn't Spidey just of gotten a divorce? Does Mephisto really have to make MJ and Pete break up? I'm sure there are other reasons for a supermodel to break up with a guy like Pete.

The deal was made to save Aunt May and to have made them break up and get a divorce would still have meant Pete had the love of his life. Whereas now the deal with Mephisto means he never had the love of his life. The thread line of hope in comics tries to make things that aren't possible happen like a nerd getting the supermodel. So instead of them breaking up, just have it to where it never happened. It's more shocking, plus their bound to get back together again.

I agree that Marvel really dropped the ball with this one... and thats my main problem with them right now

Before... the Marvel Universe felt exactly like that... a coherent, single universe... WAYYYY better than the DC universe...

But now.. mayor stuff that happens in one corner with some characters... means nothing to another corner, even if some of the same characters meet!!!

Elliot I get the feeling it's less about talking (Slott/Bendis) it's more Bendis does wtevr the hell he wants regardless of the lesser known Slott. He's done this to many times to other writers.

The guy like it or not runs the narrative at Marvel, Slott deserves better, but until he pulls a 'Civil War/Ultimates' outta his pocket Joey Q will always favor his pet bald writer.

Invincible, The Sword, Agents of Atlas, Exiles, Secret Warriors, Dark Reign: Fantastic Four, Punisher, Deadpool, Destoyer, Thunderbolts, Umbrella Academy, Buffy, Action Comics, Green Lantern Corps, Scalped, Ghost Rider, Invincible Iron Man, REBELS, JSA, Captain Britain and MI 13, and The End League... just to name a few leightonslang. I recently picked up Aarons run on GR based on you guys' recommendation and was astounded at its enjoyablilty. While diving into each issue it was hard for me get over how silly this character was, but the story, action, and art (I know Huat isnt liked by many but I loved his exaggerrated style) was spot on. The fun I had with this title is a tittle bitterwsweet, though, since Aarons departcher is immenent. Too bad. By the By, got the lastest issue? It was filler, but entertaining, nonetheless.

what you said at the beginning i think stems from a misreading of the book, jose. the way i saw it, if he unmasks to somebody who knew then they remember everything, but that doesn't mean that his unmasking to that person triggers the memories of others who aren't present at the new unmasking

otherwise, what would be the point of the 'psychic blindspots' reed richard is setting up for the ff? which are, of course, somewhat redundant thanks to bendis

jose is right the editorial staff should be doing a better. both the big 2 are tying their continuity tighter and tighter with huge events and crossovers in order to boost sales. to get us to buy books we dont normally buy in order to follow a story . if thats the way they are going to do business if thats their hook then they have to have some decent quality control when it comes to continuity

Actually if you look at it Marvel is doing a great job with continuity, it's really if you look at it guys like Bendis & Loeb who could give 2 shits about continuity.

Slott gets his continuity right, Pak, Fraction, Cornell et al know the score. It's Bendis who keeps screwing stuff up and Loeb doesn't care one way or the other.

Peter having his girl MJ, is a large part of why i think Spidey is so frekin cool.

Staying on the scene, earning dough, swinging through the burbs and kicking ass. - with his girl MJ on the fly.
