For those of you who don't know about any gymnastic work outs, i strongly advice you to invest some money into Coach Sommers book "Building the Gymnastic Body." There you will find everything you need to know about the workouts
I realy want to start gymnastics but i'm 13 i did gymnastics for about 6 months when i was 7 then stopped, am i too old to start back if i'm going to be commited and i'm worried about the fact that everyone else will be good while i'm a complete beginner does anyone know any good stretches i can do to improve my flexibility
@DragonAging welll there are lots of good stretches just starting by trying splits, try it everyday and hold each leg for 5 mins, dont push to far at first u dont wanna pull a muscle, and u can join rec, u will be put in a class with people of ur own ability, do a coule stretches like pike and straddle everyday and u shud improve over time, i do splits everyday and pushups etc. an now im almost provincial (im level 5)
dude, i was about to say, "man, that gym is perfect for crossfit: kettle bells, bumper weights, rings, squat rack, etc." Then I saw your username: CrossfFitUNREAL. nice. i do main site WOD everyday down here in costa rica. No crossfit gyms around here. Nice work.
@rlam12 hi joing your local gymnastics club would be the obvious place to strart ;-) barring that the ineternet and gymnsticbodies would also be a great place to start..
@MulletBoyHolden at 20 years old you still have at least another 6-8 years before you reach your peak strength, so no you have plenty of time left, as the above comment says you are never to old, I know ex gymnasts who still train at 40years plus, and one guy who is 70+!!!
@CrossFitUNREAL Aww man your the greatest im quiting bodybuilding and start training like a gymnast i wanna be able to carry my whole body alot better.
@tub48959 once you have learnt a muscle up, a felge is pretty easy start by placing a strap across the rings and doing it like a high bar pull-over, or getting somebody to spot your chest as you roll up into the movement.
Hi there thanks for your kind words, I trained as gymnast for about 12 years, but havent done gymnastics for well over 5 years, kind of missing the strength I used to have so, Im starting to play around with it again ;-)
This is sick. Normally when I see something about CrossFit and Gymnastics my expectations aren't very high. You seem to be a fantastic exception to the norm.
Cheers, happy you liked it :) I think most xfit affiliates do a great job with the gymnastics side of things, its not an easy discipline to incorporate into any training regieme, the fact that xfit encourages people to get into the basics of gymnastics is a huge plus, and can only promote the sport and encourgae everybody to get better and stronger.
Dude, you are fucking amazing :D
