That's copyright infrigement that's NBC's work you are so busted it's the network I'm upset with not the person who posted this video in the first place.
It's great to see and hear a reporter like Andrew Bolt being so vocal about the AGW hype.
It is so clear to me that the Australian media have been infiltrated with environmental-activists who are only reporting one-sided views on the man made climate change hype.
Attention to the CEO'S of free to air and pay tv services: Assess and review all reporters with one-sided opinions concerning AGW! You should reconsider their contracts very carefully.
NBC never owned the Australian Television Network (ie. Seven Network + regional affiliate Prime Television), Christopher Skase did at the time. However Seven does has an output deal with NBC, they air Will and Grace, Heroes, Bionic Woman (new one), NBC Today, Dateline NBC, they use NBC footage for US items on their news and the news theme is exactly the same.
And what does NBC get out of it? Aussie dollars. By the time they get it converted to American money, it's less than they had before. Maybe they use a business credit card.
At least 7 should've had a promo campaign to match the movie theme: "Come [on] Home to ATN".
what year was this?

Independence Day comes on Seven Network in Australia. Independence Day stars Will Smith.

NBC let Seven use a lot. Why? I don't know.

@Cyclops236 theres a good chance that the seven network had a licensing agreement with NBC to use their fillers, ads and promos.
Imagine the computing power at that time and how much of it would of been needed to generate that animation. that was cutting edge stuff

@lpoleschtschuk
You are absolutly CORRECT.

@djthereplay imagine the rendering and computing power it would of taken to make that... theres a good reason they copied it!

@lpoleschtschuk
Well, when you compare the two together, all they actually did was take the NBC Logo off and put the Australian Television Network logo on.
But could ONLY imagine what it would have taken for them to totally make this on their own.

I think at 0.16, the emerging ATN logo is a better fit to the music than NBC's Peacock logo.
romantomato 1 year ago
@romantomato The music belongs to NBC and so does the bumper and opening.

This is totally John Williams. I can tell because he composes everything for NBC.

@LogoLive No, it was more like Rob Mounsey. He came up with the "Come Home to NBC" music package.

Funny how I read that so many countries hate us, yet they rip off everything American that they can.
John22133 2 years ago
@John22133 It was probably made by one design studio with the intention of selling it to a number of stations. It's not that strange a practice.

It's simples... Some TVs around the world bought the rights of NBC's campaigns and graphics... Australia, Brazil, UK...
In Brazil, SBT made all the 80s based on NBC graphics and campaings.

did atn7 aired all the nbc programs?

ATN-7 was the Australian NBC. Half the stuff they used in the 80s was copied from NBC.

especially yes.

Maybe NBC owns the ATV group... That is the only logical expilnation for the exact replica of their movie opening minus the NBC logo...

Actually, in 1965, the 10 station in Melbourne was named ATV Channel 0. I'll post the ID sometime.
