that's what my baby turtle does!! everytime i dust the cage off he follows the feather duster (it's red, he's attracted to red things for some reason) around doing that fluttery thing... if i hold it in the same spot and twist it he vibrates his claws even faster.. it's weird O_o

Turtles dont just do that as a mating dance, its also a dominance dance.
The turtle trying to show its the top turtle of the tank. At 3 months that is what yours was doing. Both male and female turtles do this.

It's not a mating dance though. I mean, babies don't mate. And I've heard of same sex turtles doing that dance. So it's not mating.
And actually, my FEMALE turtle is the one I always see doing that weird dance to my male turtle. LOL.
