This movie was just as ficitious as the book. I know for sure. The Story is about Arne Johnson who is my cousin. The truth behind the story was the fact he was a drug addict prone to violent outbursts and not to mention being physically abusive to most family members.

yes.....unfortunately i used to live almost across the street from where it all happened and i was very good friends with one of the Glatzels (who refused to talk about anything other than the one time he told me the whole story)
