It is just brilliant. You can tell a lot of people put their hearts into it.  It reminds me of a book called, "Michael O'Halloran" by Gene Statton Porter about a young newsie. I've read it many times and just the pain of striving to survive gets to you. Just having enough food in your stomach to function. I appreciate the historical accuracy of this film. Some situations aren't correct. A girl would never be seen in her nightie or let a boy be near a girl's room. No big woop.

I really liked Brien Denton (Did I spell his name right?) - that guy must've been a Newsie as a kid because in his adult years as a newspaper reporter, he helps the Newsies when everyone else is afraid of Pulitzer.
