@RobinGoehner , in theory, that effect can happen, the two wands don't have to have the same core. The true Priori Incantatem effect is seen on screen only once in the Goblet of Fire

Well done, I think you did a great job - the explosiony firebally spell clash bit in the middle worked really well :) If I was doing I'd add less branches coming off of the spell stream, but it still looked really good as it is

I would at least try using the basic lightning for the beams if not Particular. The advanced lighting gives it the impression that it was "cheaply done".

@RobinGoehner actually, its not very hard at all to do fluid simulation. it was the first thing i learnt when i first used After effects. making look like lightning is tacky. because there is no way in hell that lightning can create a priori incantatem. all these people saying, fluid simulation is to hard, has obviously never learnt how to do it properly.

You should watch the scene between Dumbledore and Voldemort. The connected beam give Lava effect, not dust effect. Work with light. Always remember to add effects to GOOD quality videos.

If you don't have good camera, try to smooth effects then. It won't look sharp, and also will improve the realism.

I really like it! May I suggest though that you don't use Advanced Lightning? I think that the Obsolete lightning (with some tweaking of course) could add more of a 'cinematic' look. The Advanced Lightning always tooked too wide and way too jittery for me.

Funny you should say that, we're making two. We have just started making Part 1, which is based on the four years from Philosopher's Stone to Goblet of Fire, which we will release on YouTube on the 14th of July 2012. Part 2 is the remaining three books and will be released on the 13th of July 2013. They'll be about an hour and a half each, so not totally "short".
