Glad someone posted this song. Ray Charles and Lalo Schifrin are two of my favorite musicians (I still get chill bumps when I hear "You Don't Know Me" and "Mission Impossible"). My dad taught me how to play poker (draw and stud). Had to promise him I'd never play for money. Back in the day he played in places like St. Louis, New Orleans and Tupelo. If you won too much you didn't need a fortune teller to know a switchblade knife was in your future. Great post.

@jdsowa These two songs are not really similar in melody, but they're oddly reminiscent of each other. Both are simply astonishing "pure songs", which make me wonder if all the so-called innovative, alternative music is just crap.
