well this model in particular was discontinued but there is newer models but they do have to be ordered as most shops dont stock them.. i got mine from pc world.

i ordered one of these, got to enjoy if for 2 whole days, and it just stopped working! When you turn it on, the lights are on, but the monitor stays black. Even an external monitor won't work. From what I've read online, this appears to be a very widespread motherboard problem that HP has. Some ppl have even said that after getting it fixed, the same problem will happen again. One person has had it happen 3 times already. I hope I didn't pay 4k for nothing!!!!

I had the same problem. I have been fighting with HP for over a year about this. I spoke to 5 tech people over 9 months until I finally got a case manager. I told him I suspected a motherboard problem. I sent it in and all they did was reload the software and reseat a cable connection When I called again saying I want a new machine. Yesterday it crashed again, just like yours, I would never recommend HP again. they are jerks. Did you have any luck?

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that you've had an even worse experience than I did! My motherboard and video card had to be replaced. I sent the comp back and it took HP over 2 months, after giving me the run around.... "It's fixed." "We're waiting for parts." "No, it's fixed." "Who said it was fixed? We are waiting for parts.".... before I finally got it back.

It's worked fine since, been about 5 months now, BUT HP needs to update their driver for my video card b/c when I play a game like World of Warcraft, the driver will fail, my screen turns black for a minute, then it will recover itself and everything is fine again. I still don't recommend buying anything from HP.

Just bought mine also should be here the 13th. I'm so excited for it. Going to be getting crisis, halo 2, and playing wow on it. should be good fun.

im about to get one of these laptops as i need some serious power but my only main worry is its weight as when im driving it wont be an issue but i currently walk to work my current laptop the dv8333ea only weights 8 lbs and i think thats heavy this one is 15 lbs how do you find it to carry or is it just a static desktop replacement either way whats it like to carry id imagine id be fine as long as i had nothing else in my bag well worth a back ache for such an awesome machine...
