hello, can you help me, I've gotten a midi cable and do not know exactly how to work ... whether we could send me a screw to see or write to me what exactly should I do;;;
hey im using reaper 3.04 and ez drummer ive got my drumtrack ready and now im trying to record a guitar track with it can i have some help as to how to play the drum track back while i record the guitar to it and also turn it off so i dont record over the drum track? help please?
ust wondering..i use EZ drummer with reaper and its great but i've run into a problem.:(.im not really that great with all this DAW stuff but just ok.say you have a song with a slow outro but i need to slow the drum beat down as well.so the whole song just slowwss down.and finishes with a nice slow fill.get what im saying?.does anyone know how to slow down your drum track like that??.thank you so much.:)
Thanks, this really helped....I totally couldn't find out how to get into the midi editor.you were too fast or didn't show how you got there...please could you let me know....thanks
I'm trying to use EZDrummer with Reaper, but I just can't find it! When I go to FX/VST or VSTi I just don't seem to be able to find EZDrummer there... PLEASE HELP!!
anyone can tell me how to change the templo of ezdrummer loop but not change the BPM in reaper??because i want to do some progressive metal...so i need change templo always...but not change the whole song templo,
i have a problem, just got the reaper "demo" version and im using v.3.51 and it looks different than yours so can you explain how to open ezdrummer because i have it installed but it doesnt show up please..
When you are ready to export go to File Render and then you can work it out from there
To change the tempo you should be able to just go to the bar just below where all your tacks are and on the left somewhere should be a box saying BPM if you change that to the tempo you want it should work
good thing is that you can drop the drum patterns into timeline. so you can make any changes in midi you want, add things, or you use another vst on the midi notes... same thing can also do iDrum
hey man, i cant find that plugin your talking about (drum map media note namer plugin) you didnt really go into details on what plugin it is and where its at, im using the 3.05 version. i just started messing with it, so yeah, im a noob at this prog. but not with ezdrummer lol, i was using mixcraft, thanks man!!
My EZDrummer worked in reaper for a few weeks and just stopped one day. I keep getting that ''path to the sounds is not set'' error. I've been searching for a solution for weeks and have had no luck, could you help me please?
I can't figure out for MY LIFE, how to open the MIDI Editor you show on your video! HELP ME PLEASE! I'm not using EZdrummer, but a different VST drum machine
Reaper is free to try. After 30 days or so a reminder will pop up asking you to purchase a license (only $60, cheap) but you can just wait a few seconds and click the continue button. eZdrummer is $100 USD and each add on kit is around $89 USD. I recently got Superior Drummer 2.0 which goes for $350 USD and I will be getting the METAL FOUNDRY addon pack for $180 soon. The Metal Foundry addon is going to sound so sweet and blow eZdrummer Drum Kit From Hell away.
Where did that video go.... I need it bad. It helped me a lot to set-up ez drummer in reaper, now I wanted to watch how to edit the tracks (second part of the vid)...
This was really useful! I've been having a hard time getting started with MIDI in Reaper, 'cause I'm so used to the workflow in Cubase. Thanks for this.
great tutorial billybk1... i was wondering if you would know why ez drummer would take 5 minutes to load in my reaper setup...i have ezdrummer 1.1 and just the basic program (no additional kits) with an intel e6600 on an asus commando mobo... thanks again for the excellent video...
I think the maps are just so that you see the right name for each note (e.g. note #40 = E2 would read "Snare"). They don't influence what notes are being played or recorded, it just helps you with identifying which note corresponds to which drum instrument.
BTW, this is a great tutorial. I'm planning to install EZdrummer in Reaper this weekend, and this will certainly help. Thanks, Mr. Buck! :-)
Wow! Thanks! That was good. One quick question, how do you refresh (to get the note names on the piano keys)once you load the text file in the midi note namer?
I'm really new to this REAPER and would really appreciate your help. Thanks.
You can press( Ctrl/Alt + E ) to refresh the MIDI Editor and bring up a loaded drum map. If you are not seeing the note names, press ( Alt + 2 ) while the MIDI Editor has focus to switch to the "Mode:named notes".
Also, while in the MIDI Editor View, if you are using one the the recent REAPER versions (v2.026 or higher) pressing ( Alt + 7 ) will activate "drum mode" (diamond shapes for drum notes) and ( Alt + 0 ) will turn note names on events on/off.
Just want to clarify, that in the video I am using the latest EZdrummer release (v1.1.1). Also any recent REAPER version will work as demonstrated, in the video.
The drum maps are simple text files. So you
can also create your own custom drum maps (for use in the MIDI Note Namer plugin) with a text file editor like notepad.

hit record to record a blank ie empty midi part then double-click on it to open it up in the MIDI editor
fu53b0x 2 years ago
Or what I do is click on "Insert" at the top of reaper and then choose "New Midi Item"
It will create an empty one bar midi item. Then you just double click on it to open the midi editor.
