oh, and to my first comment abt the vid. i have this to add. its really a great job and i thank u for doing this. really. even though the movie is one filled with suspense and considered a thriller, you managed to change it and i appreciate it cuz i don't think many pple place significance on peter's death and how he died without knowing why. and its really the best TTMR vid out there. great job once again.

secondly, i only noticed jack after dead man's chest cuz he was given a more attractive new look. i watched a few of his shows and i have to say that he's a really good actor and i think hollywood sells him short. lol. certainly hope to see him in more movie. and to his fans bickering abt whether he is more likable as scruffington or norrington, i have this to say. as scruffington, he's more appealing in a physical sense while the latter is more charismatic and charming.

loved because of that i bought the movie (ok also because it was on sale just for 5€^^)....But i would have never seen this movie WITHOUT HIM^^ thx for tis wonderful musicvid^^...hes a great actor...and this role suites him very well....i was sad that jack had to die in the end....and also that he was killed AGAIn in a MVIE and while traveling on sea (pirates of the carreabean) why has he alsways roles where he dies?....

I really like the scene when Tom ran to the church to meet Peter. It matched the next scene when Marge said "Tom found you" to Peter and he replied "we found each other". It's really sweet!

Atlantis3, I love this film so much and I like Jack because of it. I like the scene between Peter and Tom much more than Dickie and Tom. Though Peter is not an important role in the novel, he has some impact on Tom anyway.

It's sort of ironic that the Peter Smith-Kingsley character was a creation of the scriptwriter and/or the director of the movie and doesn't feature in the novel "The Talented Mr Ripley" by Patricia Highsmith. The same is true of the Meredith Logue character played by Cate Blanchett, but I like them both anyway! The books are well worth a read, particularly this one, "Ripley Under Ground" and "Ripley's Game".

His portrayal of this character redifined the sophisticated male for me. It's this film that both moved and changed my life and Peter played the most part in this event. The coolness with which he carries himself shows a well-bread persona. I love this film because of this character.
